This place is beautiful, and very peaceful. The staff is lovely. However the owner is horribly racist. She has a very bad reputation within the town, and it’s deserved. My family is Bajan so I had family members come and visit with me. Well she didn’t like having black people coming to visit. She even called me to ask that I not have any more visitors, because she didn’t want to the other guess to feel uncomfortable. When I asked if she gave that same speech to the white couple next door to me...because they seemed to like being in the nude all day... she said no. This left me with a bad taste in my mouth as I knew her concerns were more motivated by the color of my skin rather than making her guest feel comfortable. Bathsheba is lovely, and the people are so friendly. Friendly enough to warm tourist about staying at this guest house. Please do not let this one person’s bad behavior take away from how beautiful and loving the Bajan people are. Traveling to Barbados is def worth the trip but I would not spend my money at this location again.

Super room with generous balcony. Nicely equipped kitchenette and an enormous, comfortable bed.
Breakfast is lovely (always try the ‘Daily Surprise’!). We only had one dinner and this was good quality albeit a little expensive.
The staff are very friendly and always keen to help :-)
This place is perfect if you want to be away from the busier south and west coasts on this dramatic and incredibly photogenic seascape. Be sure to have a day at Bath Beach, just a few miles south.

Sea U is the perfect quiet getaway the setting is beautiful and staff friendly and helpful. All the rooms open on to the veranda and are tastefully decorated. It's a short walk into the lovely little village of Bathseba where you can get buses to town. If you are looking for a quiet place away from the tourist hub in an amazing setting this is for you.

We loved or stay at Sea-U guesthouse. It's on the East side of the island which is a bit remote, but fantastic if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and connect with nature. The accommodations were perfect. Very well kept, clean and comfortable. While there's no AC, we had a great breeze flowing through the unit and were fine with the ceiling fan. The food at the restaurant was so so, this is one area that could really be improved for the location to be fabulous. We ate at Dinas down the road a few times which was ok, but really preferred the green shack next to the fruit stall just a few km away - the roasted chicken was amazing. We also took a drive around the island one day and found that nearby sights were some of the best - Haunte's garden was magical (pack a picnic and a bottle of wine/rum) and the Animal flower cave was phenomenal. After 4 days we decided to stay at the west side of the island just to change things up but honestly, I miss Sea-U. If you're ok with a bit of a drive, it's worth the peace and quite. Bathesba beach (the soup bowl) was also a super jog/walk that we enjoyed each morning. Would definitely stay there again.

This is my second trip to Sea-U and I'd highly recommend it. Wonderful staff, really breathtaking views, a good Bajan breakfast and, all in all, a fantastic place to relax and chill out. A short walk to some of the best coastline in the Caribbean.
A few minor (only minor) quibbles. The fan wasn't very effective, but is was unusually humid, so the air conditioned rooms are highly recommended, especially in the humind time of year. Also, it would be nice to have some of the new breed of Barbados craft beers in the honesty bar too.
I look forward to returning!
