What People are saying

Overnight stay

David S on 09/11/2017 22:19

We found this place via Hotels.com and were very glad we did. Ok, they are the first to admit it’s not quite the conventional hotel you might expect. It has a quirky, unsuspecting entrance, so much so that you might walk past it if you’re not paying attention. It’s from outside the door that you call and enter the lift that will take you to the 3rd floor reception which doubles as the hotel admin office. It was here that we received a really warm and friendly welcome and were given a key not only to our room, but also for the entrance/lift door so as to be able to come and go as we pleased without the need to buzz reception each time.
We were in room 10 which was a double and at the very top of the building ( a short flight of stairs beyond the range of the lift which stopped at 3). It was very clean, tidy and reasonably well appointed and the super king double bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. There were one or two broken tiles around the bath but nothing that gave us cause for concern. The main shower didn’t work properly enough to use but there was a hand held one connected to the bath taps that did the job. I reported this to reception on leaving but it may turn out that I had unwittingly not had it turned on (wherever that switch was). None of this was a problem though. The only gripe we did have was the lack of sound proofing between the rooms. We were awoken at around 4:00am by talking and laughing audible from each of the adjacent rooms. We both soon dropped back off though so it can’t have been too bad. There is a good choice of continental breakfast items (including boiled eggs) and this is punctually brought to your room at your chosen time. We found this a really nice touch and a very relaxing way to enjoy a lovely breakfast. We ate ours at the dressing table but I would recommend that, space permitting ( and there was in our room), that the management add a small table to the room for guests to enjoy breakfast in the absence of a dining room).
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will use it again for our next trip.

A lovely place to spend my birthday!

Lovely little hotel, just 2 minutes from Harrods and Knightsbridge tube station! Great value for money - comfy king size bed, bathroom with shower/bath and lovely Molten Brown toiletries and fluffy dressing gowns! Great selection at breakfast, and the freshly ground coffee was very good!! No bar as such, but 24 room service with a large drinks selection! The staff at reception were great and were happy to bring us some beers out on to the terrace! Would definitely stay again!

Run-down hotel with rude management

ana i on 13/10/2017 21:39

There's nothing to like about this hotel. It's an overly priced, run-down hole. The girls at the reception are the only nice element in the mix, as they are helpful and sympathetic. Unfortunately, can’t say the same about the general manager, that had a totally unprofessional behavior, being rude, lying and threatening.

The experience is awkward from the beginning, as the only entrance is an elevator - looks like you are entering a dungeon (attached pics of the elevator). The rooms are small and the place is run down and expensive… nothing strange until now, as there are other similar places and we learn to avoid them, by reading other people’s stories.

The experience turns bad when you are given a room with a bed carved in the wall. It looked as someone put a bed in a drawer and called it a room! (see pics - you can immediately see that that is not a proper bed for an adult).

It gets really bad when the manager refuses to refund the money, saying that it’s my problem that I booked that room! I had booked 2 single rooms, but nowhere did it say that one of the rooms had a bed for midgets, embedded in a wall! I checked all the pictures that the hotel has on booking.com and there’s not a single one from that room. Furthermore, how would I know which room they will assign to me, when I get there?

Long story short, we booked 2 single rooms for 2 nights and were asked to pay at check-in for both rooms for the whole stay, without being shown the room with the midget bed. Later that day, when we got the room and refused to stay in it, they upgraded that room but only for the first night, as the hotel was fully booked for the second night. I offered to check out the other day, both of us, and asked for a refund for both rooms for the night we were not spending in the hotel. The manager refused to refund the whole amount, saying that he couldn’t as the money was with Booking and he had to get the money from them first. I immediately called Booking and found out that the manager was lying and that the money was in his account from the beginning. When confronted with his lie, the manager threatened to call security and remove me from the building. After a long fight he reluctantly agreed to refund only 1 of the rooms, although I explained to him that we had to leave, both of us, if he could not provide 2 decent rooms for the second night.

So, given a pricey, run-down place, with a rude and unethical manager that is threatening his customers when they confront him with his lies, who would want to spend any minute there? Hopefully no one, unless you want to ruin someone’s day.

Amazing!

I can't express how wonderful this place is. The staff were friendly, the room was wonderful and comfortable and the service was amazing.

The continental breakfast was high quality. When deciding you are asked what time you'd like your breakfast delivered. We selected 8.30 both days and it arrived on the dot each time, you could set your watch by it!

the location is also excellent. You are literally around the corner from Harrods, a short tube ride from major locations, but also, a lovely walk to major sightseeing points also.

We visited for a couple of nights after our wedding as a 'mini-moon' and would go again in a heartbeat.

A secret to keep!

Well this was the most pleasant travel surprise ever! A unique boutique hotel in Knightsbridge that is beautiful in every detail - traditionally styled room with the most comfortable king sized bed ever! Great wi fi, excellent breakfast delivered to your room. Stunning bathroom with heated towels, very hot water, full size bath & Molton Brown products.
The location of this hotel is fantastic. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are excellent, Sofia is very sweet and efficient.
I would like to keep this a secret really ;-) Cannot wait to return! Thank you so much!
