What People are saying

Perfect Spot

Lindsey D on 17/11/2017 01:56

My best friend and I crash landed here after 15+ hrs of traveling and it couldn't have been more perfect. Our room was spacious and comfortable with an amazing bath tub. We warmed our bodies by the pool and sipped delicious coffee overlooking the ocean. There are adorable kitties to snuggle and Victor Delfin's work is incredible. They provided us with airport service and our driver was so accommodating. I came in a day before my friend and he was at the airport to pick both of us up at 2:00am. Really, a very well run place.

Loved it!

I could not have loved this place more. It is located in a beautiful older home in the lovely neighborhood of Barranco. The home overlooks the Pacific and has a lovely garden area where we enjoyed sipping wine and watching the sunset. It was a thrill to meet Victor Delfin and see his work, we even bought a piece of his art. The home is full of his lovely paintings and sculptors. His daughter, who runs the lodging, is personable and very interesting to talk with. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff members were kind and accomodating. A true treat!

Staying at a live gallery

"Second Home Peru" is an incredible experience on its own. Not only is it located at the most beautiful and intriguing Lima neighborhood at the edge of the cliff, providing fantastic ocean views, but it gives the feeling of staying at a living gallery (you can see the artist Victor Delfin in action).
Lilian Delfin and all the staff provide an excellent service and are realy helpful. Breakfast is very good and generous. Restaurants and clubs with character, together with interesting museums, are in walking distance.
If you do not have a car, moving around Lima is easy using taxis (not expensive).
Overall staying at this Hotel is an unmissable experience.

Artist in Wonderland

Charles W on 20/09/2017 14:47

As the finish for our active Peruvian vacation we stayed three days back in Lima (Barranco) at Second Home Peru. Lilian and her staff were the perfect hosts - Mari made us delicious breakfasts and Charo, Luis and Jonathon were each friendly and helpful when needed.

The property is a large, gated house at the end of the street - cliff side. We had one of three "mirador" rooms with a wall of windows and small balconies perhaps 100 m above the highway and beach - the view, although often foggy, was wonderful. Our room had bathroom up a few stairs with bed/table closet below. The appointments were fine and water and wifi worked well.

The big house and grounds contain numerous artworks by Victor Delfin - our host's father - who remains as the artist in residence. We were able to meet him on a pleasant Monday morning touring his studio. What an eclectic and interesting space - and a kind and welcoming person!

A homey feel is everywhere with two friendly dogs and at least three friendly cats (Sombra, our favorite, waited patiently with us for our ride to the airport)

Barranco is an artistic, bustling neighborhood and we walked freely throughout - enjoying the shops, parks and restaurants. (Try Isolinas!)

A great way to end our trip - a special thank you to Lilian and Second Home Peru!

A special place to stay

We landed in Lima and headed straight to Second Home Peru for just a night. It was perfect introduction to Peru - artistic, quirky, friendly and in a lovely area out of the centre of Lima. We loved all the amazing art and the sculpture-filled garden, the beautiful sea view and our spacious family room/apartment. There are good cafes and shops a short walk away and the area is friendly. It was a privilege to stay in an artist's house. We loved the fresh breakfast and enjoyed being taught how to open a passion fruit. Not mainstream but much better Peruvian experience.
