It was a wonderful experience when I stayed there recently. It started at the reception itself when they were very cordial and efficient. The rooms were clean and neat. House keeping was prompt in their service. The Tulip restaurant was on par with the other services.

Average Hotel, looks like it had a glorious past.. I can see the reminisces of the same but now its all run down , owners / stake holders started ignoring it and you can see the ignorence reflecting every where.
the rooms we stayed had a very stinking / foul smell, and its probably from the recycled water they use in the flush. I asked the house keeping for a room freshener they sprayed it but the stink remained, after an hour we got used to it I guess.
Lunch was OK. breakfast was not bad but can be upgraded with some more quality in the dishes. I didn't eat dinner there. food prices are reasonable , hotel is under staffed we have to wait quite some time to get served.

We stayed at Shenbaga Hotel & Convention Centre in Pondicherry during Gandhi Jayanti holidays. Smooth check-in, polite and helpful staff really impressed us. Room was wonderful. Swimming pool on the top floor is good but not impressive.
Complimentary breakfast was very nice and had a wide range. Hotel is located in a busy area, and about 2 km away from the beach.
I am giving poor rating because the hotel is associated with Goibibo who spoiled my holiday due to unwanted actions during a small issue with the hotel.
Ofcourse, hotel management was generous enough to give me a free night. But Goibibo cancelled my refund [Ref Ticket #15777012] for this free night giving false reasons. (I have PROOF).
This hotel is really good but don't book through Goibibo because in case you cancel and ask refund, you may face problems.

Location:
The Hotel is located in the busy area of Pondicherry and it is easy to find the same.
Parking:
Ample parking space available.
They have Valet parking available too.
Checkin:
The checkin process was smooth.
Staff:
The Staff were very very helpful & Courteous in all the places (Restaurant, Parking, Housekeeping, Reception)
Room:
The Room was wonderful.
It was very spacious, clean, all the necessary items in place.
The bed was a twin bed.
There is a Minibar, Electronic Safe & Iron Board etc. etc.
The Bathroom had all the things at place along with the Bathtub. (Towels, Toiletries etc.)
Restaurant:
They have a restaurant named as Tulip Restaurant near the reception on the Ground Floor.
The Breakfast had a wide spread of items and the items were very tasty.
Other Facilities:
They have a Rooftop Swimming Pool, Gym, Spa, and Jacuzzi.
There is an Indian Boutique shop on the ground floor.
Overall comfortable and wonderful stay @ Shenbaga.

After riding 350kms in bike from Bangalore ,we reached shenbaga hotel in Pondicherry. Upon check-in we felt refreshed with the ambience and service of the hotel. It's a 4 star property and worth the money. Good food. Even the in-room dining helped me arrange cake and candle at night 12am to surprise my friend on her birthday. Buffet breakfast was good on both days.It was different. Variety of foods to choose from. Overall loved the stay and service.
