Papillon restaurant is one of my favorite buffet restaurant in Abuja but of recent they are becoming relaxed about there food . There are no varieties for any of the theme nights just the usual local and intercontinental dishes. For the theme nights there are no varieties eg Chinese night no shrimp at all!!! And it is getting more expensive 8500 naira per head

I often go to Sheraton Abuja, 6 months ago I forgot a shirt in my room but because I travel a lot I was not so sure where did I forget it and I asked the Hotel to look for it and they said that they didn’t find it.
This time I just came back yesterday and unfortunately I forgot a white shirt on the bed cause I was in a hurry and because the color of it is the same as the bed sheets I didn’t c it.
I called the hotel today and they replied the same thing
Unbelievable, I’m not in a public place so that my things get stolen, I’m in a 5 star hotel where they have to have control on their employees but I’m so sad and desperate because they never solved a problem
Unprofessional, uncaring, Don’t want to work hard in investigation about lost things.
Honestly I don’t recommend them anymore, I don’t feel safe!!

The hotel is old and it is obviously old! The management need to do a major upgrade of this hotel to match the prices they are charging.
The nice things about the hotel are the comfortable beds and nice selection at breakfast else everything feels like to trip to the 80s.
Would find it difficult to repeat

I stayed for 5 nights at the hotel. Check in and check out where ok
The staff all over the hotel where very nice. I had some problems and every time I called the front desk the respond time was very short which gave you a good feeling.
The hotel public areas and in room where clean and maintained well. Although my room look old but clean.
The hotel is old and needs to be renovate.
In room, everything worked well. Wi-Fi worked well all over the hotel.
The bathroom amenities in my opinion have to be upgraded. In my view they where old and didn't smell nice.
Breakfast buffet is nice with lots of dishes. The food quality is only ok and can be better.
Pool is nice but a little bit small. Gym is good and well equipped.
Spa area can be upgraded. I had a massage one day but could hear everyone that was passing near.
All in all, I had a good experience and will return back.

The good thing is that I agree with the comments about staff. Yes they are friendly. Specially at the poolside bar. Compiments for Blessing who is waitering me for years and make me a nice sisha. The rooms however provided are bad. I am coming here for years a few nights per month but the place is going down. A month agoo i got a room with sockets having no power and various light bulbs not working. Under desk and bed not cleaned and the phone to complain not working. So i had to take my stuff and go down to the reception and got a bit lesser poor quality room. Checked out the next morning and went somewhere else. Filed an official complaint. They said off cours “sorry” and promised my employer that next time the will give me a proper room. Yesterday I woke up 4 AM to go to Abuja and after work arrived at 7PM in the hotel. They said my room was gonna be good. First of all I had to use two hand and all my weight (aprox 100kg) to open the sliding doors from the wardrobe to access the safe. Only to find out that the safe did not work. I called the manager to come and see. Whilst waiting i saw dust and checked under the bed where i found an empty water bottle and an empty yoghurt snack pack. And .... lots of dust. The curtains where dirty and hanging here and there loose from the rails. The cabinet for the fridge was badly damaged and repaired with nails that where sticking out. Sure they appologized and gave me another room which they first had to clean. Meanwhile i went to eat a very nice tender spicy gizzard dish with some fresh green paprika and onions. When i went to my room it appears that my key card did not work.. a security guard went to re-activate my key. Still not working. I went down and manager re-activated the key and came with me to open the door...... With his master key as the key card lock did not work. After a long day a lot of nonsens to deal with. Today, due to the tasty dish from yesterday i ordered exactly the same dish. What did i get? Half warm obviously warmed up leftover tough gizzard without the freshly cut green paprika and onions. Do you mind me not rating this place 4 stars? This time i even made photo’s from the poor room and a video from the manager Unsuccesfully trying to open the wardrobe doors and removing dirt from under the bed for the unbelievers. Do you mind me not wanting to come back here?
