We were here as part of a lax tournament. I found the hotel in much need of repair. The carpets are warm and the wall coverings are shot. As an SPG preferred member I was expecting a room that you did t have to walk a mile to. The layout is very inefficient with different lodges connected with corridors that are not heated. It was freezing walking to our room.
Out whole group found the front desk attendants that were on call 11/17 at 11 pm to be rude.

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks during a work trip and found it extremely comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating. The Club Lounge was great (albeit a little small when busy) and Bert in particular was awesome - funny, helpful and full of local knowledge.
The most amusing part of my stay was when the two ‘gentlemen’ in the room next to me were arrested and hauled away by Howard County’s finest late one night. Attracting management attention by refusing to checkout is never a good idea when you’re dealing pot from your room!! This isn’t something you usually see in hotels back in Australia 😆

My room was spacious and comfortable, the location is convenient, and the staff that I interacted with was great -- particularly Sid, the bartender in the hotel bar, who fostered a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I ate a couple of meals at the hotel and thought the kitchen was good also.

First time visit for 2 nights.
Lobby nice, food in restaurant was very good (Chesapeake Crab Soup), and staff very friendly.
Property is pretty bad.
I was offered the “SPG Preferred Guest section in Lodge A” — yikes, pity someone who’s not preferred!
Pics speak 1,000 words. Worst part is staring at the showerhead in the morning with the air vent next to it that appears to not have been cleaned in years of grime, dust and hair—nothing says, “welcome to a new day” better. Wall paper separating, dirty and peeling. Heater kicks on and very noisy all night. Headboard flaking off onto the bed.
I mentioned this to my colleagues and they all groaned and said that folks from our company have started to use another hotel in town that meets our corporate expense targets and is a lot better facility.

Walking into the hotel I thought to myself, "I think this will be a nice stay." But unfortunately that changed.
Let's start with the positives:
Our room was spacious. The bed was comfortable and the view from the tower overlooking the lake was absolutely phenomenal.
Now onto the negatives:
We had an amazing view which came fully equipped with both dead and living flies as well as other creepy crawlers in, around, near and on the windows.
Being an avid anti-bug woman of all kinds, I immediately called down to the front desk to ensure they were aware of the issue. Their response was lukewarm at best and it threw me for a loop.
I was asked if I'd like housekeeping to come and clean up the dead bugs or if I wanted to change my room.
Of course I elected to change the room so, I was told to come downstairs and pick up the keys...
I thought this was strange because now I'm being told to grab my bags and carry them back downstairs to pick up new keys due to a bug infested room they asigned me..
At that point,I said to myself, if it wasn't for that view, this would totally be a 2star hotel...yep, I hit the jackpot on this one.
So, I go downstairs to get the keys and guess what? The new room wasn't as spacious and had half the view the original room had so in essence, they offered me a downgrade instead of an upgrade.
Hell of a choice and options given.
Long story short, I went back downstairs and immediately called corporate while I waited for housekeeping to clean and fumigate the original room.
Being a gold Elite SPG member did not make a difference in this case because I wasn't offered extra points, an upgrade, discount or anything outside of an I'm sorry which is why I'm writing this lengthy review.
Needless to say I will not be staying at this hotel again.
