For a quick trip this is an ok stop. Hotel is dated, decor is obviously old and showing it's age. Lobby was busy when we arrived and had a long check in wait. However, when we got to the counter the clerk was helpful and quite quick with the process. Elevators were a wait the entire two days, particularly in the morning for breakfast. They stopped on every floor and my colleagues commented they experienced the same. Service at the bar in the evening and breakfast in the AM was slow. The place was packed for a Thursday night and a little loud. The room appears clean. AC/heat worked ok, water in the bathroom was warm and pressure was decent. There were plenty of towels. The carpet was warn and had wrinkles that could be a challenge for an older person or anyone having a few drinks. Room was quiet at night, I was on the 8th floor and about half way down the hall from the elevator.
The one big shining point was the staff. Everyone was very polite, cheerful and helpful. I met a cleaning supervisor on the elevator and she offered to assist with anything I needed, even gave me her name and phone extension. Our waiter at breakfast could not have been more attentive and funny.
Overall ok place as I said, not bad for a one night business stop but I would not recommend for families or for a long stay, find a more contemporary building that's not as busy.

Good reliable Starwood property in downtown Philly. Nothing special or amazing but does what it’s meant to do. Rooms are a good size and the breakfast and bar are reasonably priced. A bit out of the way but easy enough to get around.

Granted it was marathon day but we had to wait in a very long line for over a half hour to check in. The hotel did not even have a full staff at the desk checking in. The room was over three hundred dollars and we were expecting very nice hotel for that price. The rug is buckling and dingy the chair arms are worn and brown, furniture is scratched and there was no shampoo. The lobby is nice but after that halls, elevator, everything is run down. This hotel is in need of a renovation and we are disappointed to pay that much for this room.

Stayed here for business. I travel quite a bit and this room was straight up dirty. The bathroom wall had all these red stains. I don't know if it was blood or someone mixing drinks over the sink. Either way it was very visible, very disturbing and very easy for the made to have sprayed and clean off.
To make matters worse, after I got out of the shower and was walking around the room, the carpet was literally sticking to my feet. It felt tacky to the touch. Again, no clue what was causing this, but it was gross.
I ended up being moved to another room which was only marginally better.
Adding insult to injury the bed was old and uncomfortable.
I'm no travel snob, but this place has seen better days and they were a long, long time ago.
I would only stay here if everything else in your price range is booked.

We stayed at the Sheraton for three nights in mid October with our stay coinciding with the IACPA conference which brought approximately 14,000 people to Philly or so we were told!
Despite the hotel being extremely busy we never felt we just making up the numbers. All the staff we interacted with could not have been more helpful. A special mention must go to two of the concierges we dealt with. Unfortunately I didn't get their names but their knowledge in advising of places to eat and helpfulness in arranging tickets and a shuttle service for the Big Bus Tour was excellent.
There was a great buzz around the hotel and we enjoyed chatting to some of the State Troopers and getting photographs taken with the motorcycle in the lobby!
The only slight gripe was the state of the pool which looked as if it had seen better days. But this certainly wouldn't put me off staying here again as the location and staff could not have been better.
