This was my third time at this hotel... I knew it was under renovation works but this renovation was supposed to finish by the end of September. Now it's the end of November and they still work at this hotel. Of course, when I've booked it, I thought the renovation was close to the end... Illusion... We had a room at Club lounge and we've paid for it, but during the day, it was impossible some rest...
But the worst thing is that they sold Club lounge rooms without having a Club Lounge... They said the Club Lounge breakfast would be by the pool and it was, really, by the pool. it means that you could have your breakfast under the sun or under the rain... Actually, in the second day, it was raining and we had to serve ourselves by the pool and go - under the rain - to the restaurant...
At the restaurant, they saved the best tables, with couches, for the guests that weren't at the Club Lounge...And at least twice they asked us to move to the tables by the window, with chairs instead of sofas... Of course, we didn't move even because we've paid more than standard room guests and it's unbelievable that the bad places were reserved for the most expensive rooms...
The good side was the staff at Reception Desk, mainly from the evening on.
Next time in Los Angeles, maybe I"ll try the Hilton, closer to Universal Studios...

Tried the Sheraton for it's proximity to Universal. Went to the newly renovated 8th floor and the work in the room was shoddy. Caulk smears, weathering strips coming off door, etc. The TV didn't work. When called...they said it would be taken care of by the time we got back from the theme park. Still didn't work. They moved us to the room next door. That TV didn't work. Offered us a suite on the 12th floor that would be ready in an hour. (This was now 8pm...my family and I were exhausted.) They called back 45min. later said it wouldn't be ready today. ??!?!?!?! They said in the morning it would be ready. We repacked and slept there. Next morning it was not ready. They said a room on the 17th floor would be ready for us. (What happened to the suite on the 12th????) We went to Universal for 8 hrs....came back to get refreshed...our room was still not ready. We had to sit in the lounge area tired and hungry for close to 45min. Asked to speak to the manager who apologized and gave us access to the Club Room...which was pretty weak. We finally got to our room and at least got to unpack for the rest of our stay which was about 12 hours before we had to embark on a 6 hour drive back home the next morning.
Vacations are about relaxing and enjoying time with family. I was stressed for 90% of the time I was there because of the run around with the stupid rooms. Thanks Universal Sheraton!
We will definitely try someplace else next time we go to Universal.

Good location for Universal, with a free shuttle to the park uphill.
The hotel is a little tired on the outside and they were renovating several floors. Our room was very nice however. The pool area seating areas were partially packed up which was a shame as it was warm enough to swim in my opinion, and I did. Had some breakfast in the restaurant one day, though it wasn't busy service was quite slow. Food was nice though. Close to the metro station too.

Just got back from 3 nights with my family and what a dump this place is!
Lobby and lounge area is nice, the rest of the place feels like you are walking through the 'Walking dead' attraction at Universal. While they are 'Renovating', this is probably 10 years overdue and management obviously has no pride in the property and no effort has been made to minimize the effects of the construction mess, completely disgusting. The pictures I posted are of the parkade, as you can see, one worker has taken precaution to protect himself from spray paint fumes by wearing a mask, guess the guests car parked around him don't get the same protection, but what's a bit of spray paint on your nice car? I could have taken a dozen more pic's around the property that are equally as gross, take my word and stay at the Hilton!

Recently stayed in a renovated 9th floor Club 2 queen room.
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years and am glad to note some positive changes!
Pros:
1. A mini fridge is now in the room.
This is a definite plus!
No mini fridge in the room prior to the renovations.
If only the room had a microwave...
2. WiFi connectivity was terrific!
During my last few visits prior to the renovation, WiFi connectivity was terrible.
So glad this issue has now been addressed!
Cons:
1. The room is dark.
During the evening hours when you cannot whip open the curtains for natural sunlight, the lighting is minimal.
2. Room was dusty so my allergies kicked in.
Notes:
1. The safe is tucked into the closet.
2. Self parking is $28 / day plus taxes.
3. Love the free shuttle service to Citywalk / Universal Studios.
4. If you become an SPG member there are no daily internet fees.
5. I like having access to the Club for breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres.
