Great Hangout & No Water View!

Big room with everything you need to stay for a while. Pictures show water view but NOT! Cleaning person was outstanding and respectful of my schedule. It's highly convenient to get around the Lower Eastern Shore and to enjoy the oyster and clam farms as well as the fun and hospitable people. Cape Charles is a quaint town worth visiting just to be around the water and the people.
Not impressed

Booked the room for 2 days because the main hotel I was staying in was full. Hotel refused to give me a corporate rate, which exceeded my company's pre-approved limit and I had to get authorization in order to stay here, although I found out later they offered a very low corporate rate to a fellow employee. (About half the price.)
Bed was extremely uncomfortable.
Room was very large and clean. Full size kitchen. Not enough parking.
Hotel is not built very well, therefore you can hear every single step people make on the walkway and in the room next door. I was on the second floor. I can't imagine how much worse it would be downstairs.
I spent 4 months in Cape Charles for work. I did not return to this hotel after my initial stay.
Exceeded expectations

After reading some of the mixed reviews, we were a bit anxious about booking this lodging, but it was good for our trip location so we took a chance. We were pleasantly surprised to find a spacious, clean room with a nice kitchen setup, table and chairs, and two comfortable beds. The WiFi worked well every time, and automatically reconnected when we entered the room. The bathroom counter space is not large, but under counter space made it ok. It's not a pricey resort, but a good value for the price. We walked across the highway to Sting-Rays restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We really couldn't find a reason to complain about this place and will definitely stay here again.
Very Clean Room

We spent the night for a special weekend getaway. King-size bed, full kitchen (regular oven/stove and refrigerator) plus pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and even a cork screw. Room had a hair dryer, iron, full-sized ironing board. Best part? The room was clean. In fact, the room was cleaner than any 4-star hotel I have stayed at previously. Bonus: the staff was friendly, and the care they showed for their work was obvious. There are other hotels on this part of the eastern shore, but we won't consider anything but Shore Stay Suites now.
Fortunate Find

Found this hotel in AAA guide, after earlier choice turned out to be having problems with water. Traveling with friends, and we were pleasantly surprised with this modest resort, in very quiet location. Fairly basic, but rooms were large, and the full kitchen was a surprise. A bit worn, but clean, and everything worked just fine. Beds were very comfortable, and a large table was great to sit at and surf the internet. The free connection was fairly quick, with no problems. Just a food vending machine on-site, but it is a short drive to bayside restaurants in Cape Charles, well worth the trip to.
