My Wife and I have just spent a wonderful week on Skopelos island. One of the highlights for us was the wonderful apartment that we had at Skopelos Village courtesy of Ionian & Aegean holidays.
The maids came everyday to tidy and change the towels. Lots of staff looking after the wonderful gardens and lovely breakfasts in the restaurant area from 8 am with a huge choice of cooked or cold. The homemade marmalade on offer is delicious.
Excellent and efficient staff in reception .
The apartments themselves are spacious, tastefully decorated and have air conditioning in the bedrooms and lounge with all mod cons including TV and free wi-fi. Lovely clean pools and bubble pools with lots of sun loungers.
The location itself is perfect , nice and quiet with a short walk around the bay (500m) into the main town that has plenty of shops and tavernas.
It does have a cockerel somewhere in the vicinity that crows 24/7 but I understand that this is commonplace in Greece.
I have no hesitation in recommending this place 100% to anyone wishing to stay on Skopolos .
First class!!

I was in the midst of planning our family trip to Greece when a client from the UK recommended we look at island of Skopelos. The search quickly lead us to Skopelos Town and from there Skopelos Village was the place for us! We were in the two of the Sea Breeze Suites which have LOTS of space. Alex and his staff could not have been more accommodating, helping with everything from restaurant suggestions to alterations that were needed on our travel plans. Rooms were quite comfortable with a workout space and massage room just on the other side of the lovely pool. Certainly a wonderful place to return to after touring around the island. Definitely would recommend that the hotel arrange for a rental car for your visit as they are not expensive and allow you to tour the many beautiful spots around the island on your own pace. Weather could have been a bit more agreeable (mid-May) but in all, a GREAT start for our short two weeks in Greece - looking forward to returning soon!
An absolute dream

The best accommodation we have had in Greece. The hotel is in a very quiet location, overlooking the sea, but only 10-15 mins walk from the busy harbour front. A couple of tavernas are nearby. On arrival, a very friendly and helpful receptionist offered us a free upgrade. I am sure all the rooms in this hotel are really good. The rooms are dotted around the grounds and all seem to offer pleasant views of the garden, pools or sea. All the staff were wonderful and the standard of cleaning was excellent. The breakfast was something to look forward to with a good choice of bread, Greek sweet and savoury pastries, a large bowl of fresh fruit, vegetarian choices, cooked food which varied daily, and much more. The breakfast area was very pleasant, with an option of dining inside or out on the terrace. We dined at the hotel a couple of times in the evening and found the food had a more modern twist than you would find in the traditional tavernas. Again, we had excellent service. The weather was a little cooler than expected, but still nice enough to sit by one of the three pools. The grounds and the pools were immaculate. I cannot praise this hotel enough.
We enjoyed our time exploring the town of Skopelos. Well worth walking to the top for the amazing views, not to mention the wonderful streets and buildings. Skopelos felt like Greece used to be 30 years ago.
We went on the Mamma Mia trip as it was an excellent tour of the beautiful island, catching glimpses of the crystal clear sea through the pine trees. If you don’t want to drive, it is easy to get around the island as there are many coaches running trips to different beaches as well as the hotel bus. Thank you Skopelos Village for a wonderful holiday.
Mamamia.. what a fantastic hotel the Skopelos Village Hotel is!

My wife Teresa & I were visiting the Greek island of Skopelos ( This is the island the film Mamamia was filmed on) to celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary and we chose to stay at the Skopelos Village Hotel on the outskirts of the main small harbour town on the island ( The hotel is also where some of the cast of the film stayed!) To be honest we chose the hotel as it looked very nice and modern in the brochure and was also a very good offer at the time and included a weeks car hire which proved to be very useful.
Having arrived in Skopelos after quite a long journey it was lovely to see that the hotel looked really nice and was just as shown in the brochures. We were given a fantastic self contained stand alone one level apartment with an open plan lounge and kitchenette, with its own balcony with a view out over Skopolos town and hills. It also had a bathroom and double bedroom and air conditioning. It was all immaculately clean and modern looking and very presentable. The hotel had two lovely swimming pools to choose from with sun loungers and sun shades, although for no other reason other than the stunning scenery, we usually swam and snorkelled at one of the many beaches on the island you could visit.
Our breakfast each morning served from the hotels restaurant which was on a raised terrace with views that overlooked the town and bay, was included in our package and was absolutely delicious. It comprised of, fresh fruit juices tea & coffee, various cereals and fresh fruits and yoghurts, a cooked breakfast, cheeses and cold meats, toast and honey or homemade marmalade and finally different homemade freshly baked cakes each day! We took part in the whole breakfast each morning : ) ... which kept us full right through the whole day until we went out for our evening meal in one of the many local tavernas.
The staff throughout the hotel from the reception and restaurant right through to the ever busy gardener and maintenance man and our cleaner were brilliant. They were were all so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much of a problem, they just wanted to make our stay at their hotel as happy and comfortable as they could. We would like to thank them all for making our stay at their hotel to celebrate our 29th Wedding anniversary such a lovely relaxing time for us both, which we really appreciated.
The island and town of Skopelos are really charming not too commercialised, we did visit in late May so it wasn't too busy everywhere which we particularly liked, and having a hire car was also very useful. The roads were very empty so it was easy to drive about and find all the lovey beaches and some of the " Mamamia" sites to visit.
We had a wonderful time there and would definitely recommend the Skopelos Village Hotel to stay in as it was ideal for us and particularly as the staff there are all such lovely people, genuinely wanting you to have a lovely relaxing time at their hotel. We can't recommend them enough.
Wonderful holiday!

We (couple) stayed at the Skopelos Holiday Village for 1 week on 19th May. On arrival into Skiathos we arrived into an extended general strike, which resulted in our tour operator, Ionian & Aegean holidays chartering a cruise boat to take us over to Skopelos. Carol & Nigel from I&O, did everything in their power to arrange this - a huge well done to them both for doing so.
On arrival at Skopelos Village we received a very warm welcome from the reception staff, and were handed a glass of mint and lemon water and an almond greek sweet treat. Our luggage was taken to the room.
We stayed in a Sea Breeze Suite (No.5) which was exceptionally clean and had magnificent views of the sea and Skopelos. The room was cleaned daily, with clean towels. We were both very happy with the room.
Breakfast was of a good standard although we did eat breakfast out a couple of times as wanted some fresh fruit i.e. strawberries, grapes etc .. Fruit is served however in whole form, apples, pears, bananas and kiwis.
On our last day we were contacted by reception to ask if we would like a breakfast to take away as we were leaving at 06:40 the next morning - we were surprised to be offered this as in many other hotels you have to ask. This was a very kind gesture to which we accepted.
This hotel is situated within walking distance to Skopelos Town, a perfect location if you do not want to be in the centre of the hub, which we didn't.
Skopelos town was a little sleepy for this time of year but we found some good quality ceramics. The locals were also very polite and friendly.
We did the trip to the Mama Mia chapel, (I counted 200 steps by the way) stopped off at the Olive Press which was interesting, the owners taking great pride in their product. We then stopped at Kastani beach for a drink before our final stop at Agnontas Beach for lunch. Again, great service and great food. The trip was run by Dolphin at Skopelos and our guide (sorry, cannot remember his name) was brilliant, a really easy guy to get on with and a great communicator, an asset to the company,.
I cannot praise this holiday enough, every aspect ticked all the boxes, we loved it and are looking to return next year with our elderly parents.
