I have stayed in the East Chase area before and knew it would be a convenient location as we passed through Montgomery. I used hotwire as normal and was "awarded" the Sleep Inn and I was thankful as most Sleep Inns I have stayed at have been wonderful... that theory is now out the window.
Upon arrival, I signed my life away saying I will not smoke in the room or there would be a $200ish fee for cleaning. I don't smoke so no biggie... until we get to the room. It smelled of cigarettes so badly. I did not want them to think I did it nor did I want to breathe that all night so I immediately requested a different room. The 2nd room seemed ok so we settled in. The front desk lady thoughtfully called to check on me and I said it would do but that there were piles of dust in the corners. Then upon getting ready to go to bed about an hour later, I looked up at the ceiling and saw like 8 bugs all around the ceiling/wall area!... Of which I took video. So I called the front desk, no one answered. Then took the family with me to the desk to request another room and showed her the bugs. Upon returning to the room to gather our things, my daughter said look mom one bug is jumping. And it seemed as though they were roaches. The employee walked us up to check a 3rd room and there were weird bug like things; so to the 4th room we went. It was acceptable given the fact that it was bedtime. The clocks and fixtures in each of the 4 rooms had rust all over them. The 2nd floor smelled of strong air freshener to cover up some odor. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall in the hall. I even asked the lady if they had hurricane damage cause that could have explained away some issues, but they did not. We avoided breakfast as I was too worried about the cleanliness given what happened. Stay anywhere but here. I will not stay there again.

As a travel nurse, I have stayed at several hotels; however, The Sleep Inn was one of the best experiences I have had so far. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were spotless, and I felt safe staying alone. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone especially women traveling alone.

Room was very nice, comfortable, clean and quiet!! Staff is very friendly and helpful. They go the extra mile to make everything right. Good price and free breakfast is also good. Close to several restaurants for dinner choices. Free wifi.

This hotel team goes out of their way to make sure your stay is the best!

My husband and I stayed at this Sleep Inn during the Florida evacuation from hurricane Irma.
Each and every team member of this hotel went out of their way to ensure we were safe and had all of the things we needed during this stressful time.
The front desk team was always there to help us with questions and reservation needs. The rooms were spotless and the team that was responsible for cleaning them was always willing to help with our individual needs. The team that was responsible for the wonderful breakfast you provide each morning went out of their way to ensure that all of the evacuees were fed though each morning, they stayed late, after the breakfast hours were over, to make sure we all had everything we needed.
This company showed that when there is a disaster, Choice Hotels is there for those in need. Thank you, again, for your company’s kindness and compassion during one of the most stressful situations I have ever been in.

Nice stay at a good price

My wife had a business appointment in Montgomery and we stayed here for a single night, having found a low price on an online booking site. We had requested early check-in and, despite being close to full the night before, I was able to check in before 9:00 a.m. The lobby, breakfast area and the grounds all seemed to be clean and well-maintained. The room was also clean and comfortable and everything seemed to work well. My only complaint (and the reason that this is not a five-star review) was an unpleasant odor when I opened the closet in the room. I suspect that a prior guest had left a wet swimsuit or other item there and the smell developed from that. I did tell the front desk clerk when we left the next morning and she seemed genuinely appreciative that I reported it. The next time we visit Montgomery, we will certainly consider staying here again.
