My wife and I took an escape weekend at Santa Clara to celebrate her birthday. In all respects the experience was outstanding.
The ambiance, views, food, room quality were what one would expect and desire at an upscale hotel.
What distinguished the experience was the supportiveness and professionalism of the people. Whether it was the Concierge, Edson, Restaurant Host Jose, and particularly wait staff Julietta, they were terrific.
We travel a lot as evidenced by the number of reviews we provide. This experience in all respects was sensational!

We briefly visited the Sofitel Legend Santa Clara during a cruise stop. We had stayed at the hotel previously for a wedding and wanted to return for lunch. The hotel is as beautiful and the service as outstanding as our first visit. The hotel is located in an old convent, and there are beautiful garden spaces with fountains and flowers. The pool area is lovely. We ate a leisurely outdoor lunch at the restaurant and enjoyed delicious food and drinks. It is a great people watching place too, as the hotel guests are a very international group. If we return to Cartagena, I would love to return to this hotel.

Magnificent hotel in an old building. Perfect location to explore Cartagena. Great hallways with nice wooden features and antiques. Lush green courtyard, excellent for a drink. Amazing ocean views from top floors and the bar. The best is probably the pool, especially in the evening while looking at the stars. I can not praise enough the staff of hotel, especially Ricky - super helpful and friendly. Rooms are nicely decorated. Bed is very comfortable. Nice bathroom toiletry by Lanvin. Truly luxury hotel.

A hotel with history and classical charm. Obviously not for people looking for an economic solution, as prices are quite high - but so is the standard of the Service, For me among the top 5 hotels I stayed at, I would come again any time.

We chose the Sofitel Santa Clara to hold our daughter's wedding and we were not disappointed, the hotel and staff exceeded our expectations and during our 6 day stay we were treated like family.
Everything was more than up to par with a 5-Star Hotel; the rooms, the food, the beverages and more than anything, the attention given to the guests. The day of the wedding, the staff worked so effortlessly that they weren’t even noticed and took great care of the bride and groom all during the event (as well as all their wedding guests).
My family and I will no doubt try to be back as soon as possible.
