Beautiful, clean, helpful staff! Arrived to fine a very nice room, very up to date. Has an elevator and air. Air not working properly, so they graciously are moving us to another room. The breakfast was outstanding. Everything you want and more. Staff at breakfast very nice.
Receptionist knowledgeable about restaurants and other small town around here. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Make a reservation, as they don't have many rooms, and they fill up quickly.

The hotel is an old monastery, situated at the edge of the old town of Cherasco, a sleepy little town in the Barolo wine region. The building and its surroundings are stunningly beautiful. I had booked a deluxe double room for myself, and was happily surprised when I was upgraded to the "Suite degli Stucchi", a beautiful, roomy suite with original 8th century ceiling decorations.
The hotel has a pleasant pool area with a good number of sunbeds and a cabaña. The pool area is an extension of the pleasant bistro's terrace, so there's no need to get up from one's sunbed to order appetizers or a cocktail to be enjoyed in the sun.
The food in both the fine dining restaurant upstairs as well as in the bistro is very good and a good value for money. The service is friendly and professional across the property. Laundry service was quick (same day without extra charge) and affordable.
There's not much to do in the village itself. There are some cafes, restaurants and gelaterias, but at least in the summer there was not much happening in the evenings.
I would recommend this as a base for e.g. visiting Barolo and its wineries, or just taking a couple of days to relax and enjoy the sun, the pool, the good food and the beautiful surroundings.

I got my research wrong choosing Cherasco as a stop. There is absolutely nothing to do in the town except eat snails!!! We did however choose the right hotel in the Somaschi.
Not the easiest to find but looks great as you drive up to it. Nice grounds with a pool near the car park.
Receptionist was very nice & gave us room 105 which was spacious with a nice shower room. Air con worked but struggled with the 90 degree heat as it was still very warm during the night with it on full. Sky TV which offered U.K. news was a plus.
We had a beer & toastie at the pool which was very good VFM. Pool was lovely but it was impossible to sit for anytime or get into the pool as it was swarming with wasps. Even around the stairs into the pool. Shame as it is a lovely area.
Didn't have breakfast so can't comment but I would certainly recommend staying here if you have to visit Cherasco.

A converted monastery and very imposing on arrival.
Safe secure parking.
Lovely helpful receptionist and staff in general.
Our room was adequate with a good shower. My wife was unhappy with the towels and questioned their freshness.
Breakfast was dire. We went down into the subterranean room at 10am to find a poor selection with the toaster switched off no help offered. We just had cornflakes and coffee and departed. A pity breakfast is not offered outdoors in good weather.
The brasserie located at the back of the hotel near the swimming pool was delightful with excellent friendly service, good wine and tasty food. Highly recommended.
Cherasco itself is a quiet small town within easy walking distance with bars and a selection of restaurants.
We will return but will seek a far superior room which I believe are available.

Very clean rooms and friendly helpful front desk. Lots of History and full of charm. The rooms felt like we were staying in a dorm. Okay for one night, we very much enjoyed the breakfast offering. Very friendly service. The Bells ringing every hour through the night...not ideal if your a light sleeper.
