Excellent view and apartment
Giacomo Won 23/11/2017 01:11We had an executive apartment, water views from our windows, very modern and comfortable, with washing machine and drier in the bathroom, friendly check-in, close to the waterfront buzz of eateries, arts and crafts, constitution dock and Salamanca place. Also an easy walk to the CBD.
Peaceful with fantastic view
Marie Lon 21/11/2017 19:59Top notch on every level. You just can’t go wrong here. The executive apartment is spacious. Well laid out with magnificent views. The kitchen has everything for a short stay. Nice big bathroom too with lots of space around the basin.
Cafe Lola nearby for the paleo health fanatic. Love 💗 this place. Immediately tried to book a holiday visit to share with the family. But they are booked out. So get in quick. It’s worth it.
Fantastic Location but woeful parking arrangements
David Son 19/11/2017 09:26We travelled to Hobart with 2 of our adult daughters for a 5 day driving holiday around the island and decided to start with a 2 day stay in Hobart. We chose the Somerset as it was centrally located and within walking distant from everything. The apartment was very nice and had a fantastic view of the harbour. The main down side is the parking or lack of it. We had to drive around for nearly an hour before we could get one of the small number of allocated spaces. Luckily we found one nearby but considering the cost of the apartment this was a big disappointment. The main bedroom was a little claustrophobic as it had no windows however the bed was comfortable and after a couple of wines we had a good nights sleep. The following night was very different the above fan would not operate and the light came on by itself at midnight. The remote for both light and fan did not respond. We spoke to the front desk in the morning and the only explanation was that the boats in the harbour use the same frequency and this may be causing the problem. Great property bet they have a few major issues to sort out before I could recommend it.
Worthy of 5 stars if not for the parking
Pamela Don 16/11/2017 04:41An absolutely fabulous location on the water walking distance from all Hobart Central has to offer. We were upgraded to a balcony room which was superb. The only negative comment is that secure parking is not available - all parking is on the street. The desk could have used a second person on check-out as the wait is a little frustrating when you have meetings to attend, however the process was fine.
fabulous spot to stay
60stravellers2014on 15/11/2017 03:47we stayed 3 nights at Somerset on the Pier - the staff were welcoming, the room was great - large & clean, and we had a great view of the sea & the hills (where we saw wildfire start), right on the waterfront, close walk to old & new town, parking available (usually). do wish that they would use natural products in the bathroom though. it was a great choice & we would highly recommend
