Located at 3 minutes from the airport (it takes around 15 minutes the way back to the airport due to the traffic) the taxi cost around $5 to $7USD, is not in the old city. The property looks with about 2 o 3 years there are like 3 beautiful buildings but needs paint, some of them looks like arent finished, the room isn't well maintained, need working windows (one cannot be closed and another had the handle broken), the roll up curtains are horrible because the heavy use, we stayed at the 2nd floor the room was medium. We ask for a crib and bring it fast, excellent customer service at all times. Comfy bed, small and clean bathroom, it has a 2 pools, a bar. The breakfast buffet was basic, already made eggs, different fruits, cereal bar, different types of bread, caldos(soup), chorizos, and some juices (bitter) the restaurant the service is average. The restaurant have good a good service since you enter (Mr Jaime was a great host), the bar cocktails were good (Coco Loco and Alexander) but the mojito and the cherry lemonade were horrible because wasnt made with fresh lemon juice. We tried the Sacher chocolate cake but was like frozen, with no taste or texture (beautifully decorated for the birthday occasion we asked for, thanks again). The most terrible situation of the hotel is the terrible odor during the morning (was like sewage smell) the mosquitos during the night and the noise from the people on the low floor (was like they were inside your room). The hotel location is close the boquilla town and look like dangerous to go to the beach or to walk around, there is no commerces around, no shops, no restaurants (maybe a drug store and a small liquor store couple blocks down) you must take a taxi and go to the city. Be aware of the morning traffic jam in front due to the bridge construction these days.

Large, beautiful room. Unfortunately there are some works taking place in front of the hotel (building a bridge) and during the day, noise can be annoying, as well as the traffic. I asked for a possibility of having a late check out (until 2 pm), and I am still waiting for an answer. I prefer to have a no for an answer than having no answer at all!

Please stay away from this hotel is dangerous for your health, it has a lots of black mold, dirty. If I can give this hotel negative starts I will do it because this is the worst SONESTA I've ever been. Please check the pictures below. Extremely disappointed.

It took them over 2+ hours to check me in, I cannot believe this is how they trip guests. After I was checked in, I realized they didn't adhere to my room preferences or anything I'd chosen when I selected this hotel... To add insult to injury, they gave me a room in front of the elevators. I will NEVER come to this hotel again and it is HIGHLY unlikely that I'll ever Stay at another Sonesta property...

The property is ok, seems like a distressed property they fixed.. but it's okay if you get a nice room. Clean. Comfortable.
HOWEVER, the government is building a bridge in front of the hotel... they start working at 8am-7pm - Sunday through Sunday!! SATURDAY AND SUNDAY INCLUDED!!
So if you're looking ti rest, this is not the place to go right now. The noise never stops!
