One Night transit stay going to Tanzania (4 Oct)

Ethiopian arranged my stay as my flight wasn't until the next morning. It was a bit far from the airport but a shuttle bus was also included. Upon arrival keys were given out and we were told dinner was ready. I headed to my room first to put down my stuff and then went to the dining room.
The dinner selection seemed like it was left over and not fresh, it was adequate but would have liked the food to be replenished as I only got a few scoopfuls. Personnel didn't seem attentive to what was in the warmers.
Room was comfortable for my transit stay no complaints there. I appreciated the personal wake-up call. Although it would have been better an hour later...as my bus wasn't scheduled for two hours, so an extra hour of sleep would have been nice.
Overall I wouldn't mind staying here again.
Cold rooms. Cold showers. Cold service

No, this hotel is not close to the airport and it is not well situated. It is near Merkato withno decent restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are bitterly cold and basic. The showers are cold. When I complained, the technician said that the hotwater was set at 35 degrees celsius and that should be adequate. He raised it to 36. Not nearly hot enough in winter. Transit passengers are treated cold. The dinner is cold and obvoisly leftovers from the day before. When you are a transit customer, insist that Ethiopian Airlines book you in the better hotel closer to the airport.
Basic hotel for an overnight layover

Stayed here during an over night layover with Ethiopian Airlines.
Personally, I found it a strange choice by the airline(s) as it's quite far from the airport -- it takes about 20-30 minutes in the shuttle bus. There are ample hotels much closer to the airport so I'm not sure what drives the choice to book Soramba. They seem to host a lot of transit passengers though and do very thorough wake up calls and door knocks (good luck trying to hit snooze!).
It's a standard hotel, big rooms with small balconies -- mine overlooked the street, not much of a view. My bathroom was not very clean, but not horrendous. The dinner buffet provided was very limited (plain rice, fish, beef, mixed vegetables), I didn't visit the breakfast as my flight was very early in the morning (the buffet was open though). For a transit hotel it was definitely adequate, just far from the airport.
I arrived at night and left in the morning so didn't get a sense of the area. Front desk staff was not friendly at all, simply handed you a room key and moved on to the next person. The concierge did arrange a very nice driver to take me to meet a friend in town which was much appreciated.
Wifi was hardly working and is limited to only your floor -- I asked for the password for the restaurant and was told I couldn't have it.
Pleasant Stay on Transit

I would like to thank Ethiopian Airlines for giving this Hotel as part of Transit overnight Accommodation and I cant ask for more. I would consider it as a typical 3* Hotel with well maintained rooms and the Reception Staff were quite helpful and they even helped me out in getting a Taxi for a 2 hr local sight seeings. As part of their Transit arrangement with the Airlines the Breakfast was serverd from 5.30am onwards and considering i had to leave to Airport by 6AM this was really helpful.
They did have Free Wifi but i guess on that the day i had arrived there was some issue so it was very slow, either way Ethiopian Standards it does not have great speeds as for Internet Speed.
A short but pleasant stay

I had a long layover and my airline out me up in this hotel. Even with the little time that I was here, I had a great experience. The room was large and comfortable. It gad a bed, TV, city view from the balcony. Towels were included. I was able to have a meal at the restaurant and it was tastey. I wish I was able to stay there longer.
