Space Hotel is an awesome modern hostel with a lot of great amenities. The necessities are great - a clean room, private clean restrooms, plugs, comfortable beds, etc. It's strategically close to a lot of places via walking or tram, which is nice. The kitchen is rather industrial feeling, with lots of old food in the fridges. The rooftop has a pretty cool hot tub! There's a gym, too, which is nice. But, any hostel or hotel that charges for internet in your room... especially an international hostel... I can't give it a five star rating. I can't even give it a four star rating for that. It's 2017. Lack of access to internet in accommodations is absolutely inexcusable. An attempt to capitalize on travelers requiring internet access is not acceptable. It's a great place, but they should change this ASAP.

We stayed for the 2nd time, this time for 2 nights. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, from front desk to cleaning. I must commend the young people who are staying at this hotel for their incredibly friendly and helpful manner. All in all I would recommend this hotel for all ages. Clean and super fun

Rented a very nice private room for two weeks at the Space Hotel Melbourne back in 2013. Room was just as good as any Hotel room. Good facilities, with gym and cinema. In Melbourne CBD so near everything and next to Lygon St. will all the cafes and restaurants. Staff friendly. Internet access. Great cooking facilities. Bar attached to hotel with backpacker discounts. Would stay there again.

Check in and check out was brief and simple. The hotel allocated the room but need to claim our own bunk. The room was clean and comfortable, toilets were always clean, however pantry can get dirty at night.

Alarm set off 4 times in the early morning in 2 weeks.
Complained to the receptionist,he said some people cooking in the kitchen caused the alarm set off,he will run faster next time if it happens again...
