Very nice, newer Marriott property near the University. Only drawback is there are no restaurants within walking distance other than a few fast food joints. Very good breakfast buffet in the morning. Went out for an early morning walk and almost ran head on into a moose and her yearling calf who were feeding on tree branches about 25 feet from the Springhill Suites entry sign. Nice and quite property. would definitely stay there again if we were in Anchorage.

I stayed here for five days on a business trip and my UAA daughter stayed with me since it was so convenient to her school. Rooms were clean and arranged to accommodate people who need to do computer work while other people slept. Everything was clean, the breakfast had good choices, the pool needs a little love - but was clean and attractive and we enjoyed the luxury of warming up in the jacuzzi after being out and about in the cold all day. There are walking/skiing trails that originate right in front of the hotel - plenty of room to get a long run in. They do free shuttles to the airport and also to downtown. All staff were gracious and helpful - they really stood out for customer service. I'm planning on staying here every time I'm in anchorage.

Great views of the dog park and the mountains, convenient to University medical facilities, this is a great place to stay. The room is comfortable, the staff friendly and the breakfast actually warm (or cold) as it should be. The pool good for exercise and the hot tub big enough for conversation. The fire pit was a fun addition on the first snowy day of the winter.

I have stayed in a number of Springhill Suites properties and found this one to exceed the others. Our room number 336 had a great view of the snow capped mountains and lake. This is a 3 story property and it paid to be high up. It appears to be a very new property with excellent design. There is free wifi in every room. The hotel also has a free airport shuttle in both directions on demand from the airport but every hour back from the hotel.
Our room had a microwave, fridge, closet, work desk, flat screen TV, separate toilet room from shower room with each one having their own sink. There is a substantial closet, plenty of electrical plug in locations. There is a sitting room, plenty of drawer space. Two queen beds with tiny directable reading lights. Breakfast was average and I recommend that it be improved. Noise proofing seems to be better than average.
You can find a running trail around the lake connecting to a number of other trails. There is an excellent Thai restaurant a few blocks away along with a pizza joint. Otherwise it is relatively far from anything else.
Recommendations: the corner mirrors in the toilet area are useless; the toilet area needs a separate bath mat; the air conditioning system seems not to heat to a set temperature continually.
Of all the places I have stayed in Anchorage I prefer this hotel now.

I usually stay here when we can. Always clean, always a pleasure to check in and anything else we need. The breakfast is good with bagels, toast, scones, juices, milks, eggs, meat, oatmeal, cereals. The pools is nice with a hot tub and swimming area. The gym has cardio and weights. The rooms are large with pullout bed If you need it. I will always recommend.
