Disappointing Resolution to a Problem

Mathea406 on 23/10/2017 18:37

I stayed at this location the last week of September, as I was in town to prepare a rental property for sale. The staff at check-in were kind enough, although unhelpful to other patrons, denying the woman in front of us a late check-out because she had not requested the service in advance and informed the woman that the housekeepers were short-staffed on weekends.

We checked in without a reservation and had few hiccups with this process. Our room initially appeared clean but upon closer inspection there were cigarette burns in the carpet and on the sofa, toenail clippings from a previous guest near the bedside table, the toilet ran constantly unless I lifted the lid and adjusted the float arm, orange mold above the shower and bizarre stains on the blackout curtains (as if someone had sprayed a liquid on them that negated the blackout properties).

The next morning I went to the front desk to have one of our key cards reprogrammed because it didn't work the previous night and the staff asked with eagerness if I was checking out. I stated I was not and the immediate rebuttal was to ask when I was checking out. I responded that I'd be checking out the following day. All the while a member of the housekeeping staff stood to the side, waiting for rooms to clean. Upon our return to the room in the early hours of Sunday morning, we entered a room that had not been cleaned and smelled of wet towels. For the Marriott brand and price, this establishment was disappointing to the extreme.

I voiced my disappointment the following morning at checkout and was told that because I had not reported the problem earlier (which would have been at 1:07 am), nothing could be done as far as a rate change. I requested that the GM contact me and was provided his business card and informed it would be "easier" if I contacted the general manager. I requested that the GM contact me anyways. After a few days of radio silence, I emailed Wes Carter, only to have the email bounce back as undeliverable. I then contacted the corporate customer service email and was told the management team would be notified. My issue was finally 'resolved' nearly 3 weeks later with an offer for a discount on a future stay.

There will not be a future stay for me, ever. Not only did this stay live up to the Marriott standards, the resolution was unsatisfactory and I would not recommend this location.

Great Place!

My son and I had a wonderful stay at the SpringHill Suites. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pool and hot tub were inviting and the breakfast was good. We liked the fact that we were next to a steakhouse for dinner. The staff was cordial and friendly!

1st Time SpringHill Suites - not our Last!

Did a one night stay on way to Yellowstone drive trip. We were a bit concerned about the location of this property in what appears to be an industrial area of Billings - but the hotel was easy to locate - exterior impressive/clean. Helpful, friendly front desk stay made check-in a breeze. We were really impressed with the room layout, décor, pleasant color scheme and room appointments. This hotel is located close to shopping needs, service stations, etc. Very much appreciated the - across the way - Texas Roadhouse coupons.
The free breakfast was well done with a great selection of breakfast foods. Although long time Marriott customers - this 1st time SpringHill Suites experience will not be out last.

Nice place, nasty laundry

The room was nice. It was clean. There was nearby dining. The laundry was moldy and dryers were full of dirt in the lint trap. They have not been wiped out in a long time, if ever. The soap machine was out of order without mention of being able to get any nearby or even at the front desk.

Roomy

Nice roomy stay with good breakfast. Nice staff. Restaurants nearby. Clean with good mattress. Nothing special but quite adequate, especially when traveling. Reasonable rates appreciated. Quite consistent with other properties.
