The nicest homestay!

We had a wonderful stay at Keralan Homestay. Arsha and Baiju are great people: nice, friendly, warm-hearted and so helpful and full of tips for activities and things that need to be organized. At the night of our arrival (10 pm) they asked if we'd spontaneously like to accompany them to a wedding of one of their family members the next morning. Of course we did and it was an amazing experience! Our room was absolutely fine with everything inside you need. Only the mosquito net had some holes (but you can tape them..).
Arsha is an excellent cook! We had breakfast and dinner three times and the food was among the best food we had in India - so don't miss it! Upakaram Arsha und Baiju and Hope to see you again! You are always welcome in Germany! Anna & Tim

We were supposed to be heading to Thekkady but thanks to a strike in kerala we wandered off to Alleppy and by happenstance booked at this lovely place!
We arrived late at night and were given the fantastic bamboo cottage that overlooked the lake. The sight to greet when you wake up in the morning is something to behold (check out the pic below)! Special brownie points just for that peaceful bliss!
The hosts are really warm and lovely. They take an effort to bond with you and help you out with arranging a boat house or a canoe (as was in our case). Their property is really beautiful and it's relaxing to chill out in the garden as the day passes by.
I am going back there, whenever I'm in Alleppy for sure!

We visited Allappey during the first week of May. We had a peaceful and homely stay in Sreevalsam Inn. The hosts Arsha & Baiju were extremely good in their hospitality and helpful in exploring Allappey. We had a 3 nights stay. One night we spent in Boat House. In remaining two days we visited many places which includes Allappey Beach, Marari Beach, Ambalapuzha temple, Mannarsala temple, Coir Museum, Elephant ride, etc. It was wonderful experience for us.. Thanks to Arsha and Baiju.
Perfect hideaway by the backwaters

We had a wonderful time at Sreevalsam Inn. Our hosts made us feel so welcome we decide to extend our stay in alleppey. Cosy, relaxed, very good food and all great value. Also, right by the backwaters so you can see houseboats passing by every half hour or so. Would highly recommend.
New name: Keralan Homestay

Sreevalsam Inn is now called Keralan Homestay. They owners are kind, happy to share their knowledge. We stayed for one night and they were accommodating. They have scooters and bikes for rent and can help you plan any activities you're hoping to do. We rented a scooter and went to a nearby beach which was lovely. The canoe trip we took in the morning was one of the highlights of our Alleppey stay! We loved the tranquil feeling of a hand-paddled boat and got to see the morning routines of those living along the backwaters.
Location is great, right on the waterfront. Breakfast, which is included in the stay, was delicious. We received a welcome chai when we arrived (best we've had!), but any further chais or water bottles we drank were not included in the homestay price, not that they were expensive, but just a surprise on the itemized bill. There's a mosquito net on the bed, useful because there are lots of those buggers around.
