We had quite a pleasant stay, although the room was a little below our expectations, but then we haven't stayed at a two star hotel for a while.
The wifi was a bit unreliable, there were only two plug sockets and overall the decor had seen better days.
On the plus side, it was cheap for Nice, the room was clean and the bathroom had obviously been updated with modern fittings and a nice big shower cubicle. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend it as long as people are realistic about what they are paying for. The location is convenient - near the main railway station and the tram stop that takes you to the old town. There are also plenty of restaurants close by.

Stayed there for 3 days. Rooms were spacious and the location is very good next to train station with tram access also nearby. Staff at reception was very helpful in sharp contrast to another hotel that we stayed nearby. Provided much needed help and guidance on some specific questions we had and paid extra attention to our needs which made our stay pleasant during the 3 days. Definitely recommend it to others!

Staying at Hotel Saint Gothard was mainly in line with the expected.
Kind staff and very good breakfast were among positive impressions.
Not entirely clean sheet and blanket were among negative impressions.

Avoid. Tiny "double"room . Bars on windows. No view. Bitten by bed bugs or fleas. Couldn't swing a cat in the toilet. Doesn't deserve two star rating. Nothing more than a flea pit hotel. In addition, the area felt a bit dodgy. Ok during the day. Felt a bit threatening at night. Tip - spend a few quid more and enjoy your stay in Nice, which is a great place to visit.

Pros: Top sheet on the very large bed! Finally, found a hotel in Europe that does this. The location is pretty good as well- easy to catch the 98/99 bus to and from the airport and the train station is a 5-minute walk away. The neighborhood has a few dodgy streets but overall was perfectly fine with lots of restaurants and groceries around and safe. We had a room facing the street (207) which I was annoyed at at first as I asked for a quiet room but it turned out fine. The street wasn't that noisy at night- just keep in mind the rubbish trucks come around 12:30am. It's a 20-minute walk to the promenade. Friendly front-desk staff that is multilingual. Room is quite large. We could store our bags at no charge.
Cons: The wifi was spotty; sometimes very good, others times not so much. Plus it was SO annoying to have to log in every time you got booted offline. There is also not even close to enough outlets in the room; we had to unplug the TV to charge our phones. Also, the young front desk clerk on Friday night was nice but smelled like BO. Wear deodorant!
