Great ambience
aussieannAdelaideon 01/11/2017 03:20We chose this accommodation purposely so that we could check the little chapel, however the day we were there the road was closed as there was a military operation .
The Inn itself was great. The hosts were very welcoming on a miserable day. We were taken to our room which unfortunately was gained by going outside again (on an incessantly rainy day). The room was clean and comfortable. After sorting ourselves we retreated to the bar for a drink in the hope the weather would abate. It did so we took a walk around the village of Bosherston was very nice with some very old buildings all labelled. We did take a walk down the road toward the chapel and if only we had gone a little further we would have seen it, but we were nervous about the weather setting in and it also becoming dark which is quite dangerous on the country roads. Just be aware if you are staying there to see the chapel to check about road closures.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We also had our evening meal at the inn ... huge serves and very nice.
MADE IT OUR HOME
Driver_in_Europeon 24/09/2017 20:43Sometimes you find a pub that you can treat as home - this is one of them.
The welcome is warm, the bar is stocked with a variety of interesting drinks and the food is typical British pub grub: a decent quality eclectic choice. They have a varied menu with a decent specials board.
They have been upgrading - improved toilets (needed) and circular frames round the murals - gentrification comes to Bosherston. Don't get too excited about the free wi-fi - it is very very slow.
This pub is seriously good, utterly casual and friendly. Just right.
Very friendly pub stay
patricia ton 18/09/2017 12:294 of us stayed here for 3 nights last week. The reception was very friendly and the rooms fine for the price we paid. There was plenty of coffee, tea, biscuits etc and the bed was comfy and clean. The décor was a bit dated but we had all we needed. We had 3 good breakfasts although the choice was a bit limited with only items of full English supplied in addition to cereals etc. We had a very good meal on the first night with great pie and chips. On the second night we ate somewhere else where the food was excellent and arguably better but the atmosphere was somewhat dead and unfriendly. Our third night we decided to stay at St Govans and again had a lovely meal with good Cowl and lamb. We would stay again.
Lovely welcome, great food
maurpcon 15/09/2017 20:51Lovely village pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere. Dogs welcome and even sell dog snacks on behalf of a local rescue centre. Great range of well kept ales and the food was wonderful, I had the fish and chips and it was the best fish and chips I've had for years. Would recommend this pub to anyone
Great dog friendly pub
C Lon 14/09/2017 22:36Visited here with my parents, sister & small well behaved dog. Dogs are very welcome inside the bar on one side only. A spacious eating area with good selection of ales/lagers & other beverages. Good choice of food. We had Beef curry (hot) with chips/rice/naan bread&mango chutney, which was delicious & filling. Also had, Hake with garlic pots & mushy peas/Scampi &chips&mushy peas/ Poached Salmon & Avocado Salad with bread. All meals were presented well & all were tasty & good portion size. We were made to feel very welcome & no issues with bringing the family dog inside the pub...such a bonus in this part of the world as many establishments only allow dogs outside. Being a rainy day it was luxury for us all to be inside such a warm & cosy pub. Also had option of dog treats to buy on the bar, all proceeds went to charity.
I have to mention how nice the toilet areas are! They look recently refurbished & are absolutely spotless, it's a really plus point for the pub. Can't fault this pub at all, just can't wait to come back & enjoy ourselves, with the dog soon. Thank you for such a lovely experience.
