Amazing Stay
Jellybaby66on 06/11/2017 22:06It isn't very often that I leave a review as the 'experience ' has to be very poor or amazing. I have to say the Stafford House falls in to the latter - amazing property with the room standard and breakfast surpassing a lot of 5* hotels. The hosts have thought of everything to make their guests stay memorable with some very thoughtful touches.
I will definitely be staying here again and would highly recommend the Stafford House.
WHAT A PLACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr Keith Kon 24/10/2017 12:30This place is just perfection, only stayed over 1 night on travels southbound. We were met by Ian who is such a nice guy and full of lots of tips and information about a thousand and one things. The house just oozes luxury ,warmth, and quality.
Hazel is just the perfect host and nothing is too much trouble such a lovely lady, she works very hard to make sure you need for nothing. The beds are really comfy and rooms tastefully laid out with a good hospitality tray and small fridge. We had booked a twin room with shared bathroom , this was not a problem as the bathroom was huge with various soft white towels great selection of shower gels , shampoo , soaps and lotions. The breakfast selection is vast and caters for every need , the black pudding and sausage was the best I have ever had. The grounds are laid out with lots of interesting flower beds that do great justice to this lovely period building. Thank you also for the tips on visiting the lakes this was a great help and the views where stunning in October with the changing colours of the autumn .
Thank you both so much and hope to see you again soon best wishes
Kris and Paul.

Qualityscoton 16/10/2017 16:40There is something particularly warming about visiting a place that has already anticipated everything you could possibly think of that you might need/want. Stafford House is one of those very rare places. Set in a beautiful little village close to the stunning vistas of the lake District. We had the very quaint on suite room. Loved all the little touches that add up. Fresh fruit, fresh milk for tea, torch for the walk to the village, nice toiletries etc. Bed was very comfortable. Soft, but that suited us. And in Hazel, we had the perfect hostess ( and hubbie was excellent as well !!!). Breakfast was probably one of the nicest cooked breakfasts we had experienced. So a brilliant visit. We did try the local pub for a meal, but unfortunately that was a little bit of a disappointment. Still, Greystokes and Stafford House should definitely be in your visit list.
Mum & daughter trip
feralgoatukon 15/10/2017 15:12All I can really say is this place is fabulous! Welcoming, immaculate, beautiful food, lovely hosts, gorgeous setting...we had a brilliant stay.
Daughter and I had a twin room with shared bathroom and I think Hazel cleaned it every time we used it , you would never know we shared it with other room and it certainly posed no issues, so please do not let the shared bathroom dissuade you. We will definitely be back this place is better than some 4&5* places we've stayed in. The gardens are lovely and the local pub food is excellent. Thank you both for a lovely stay xx
Terrific place run by terrific people
Eirewolfon 22/09/2017 18:14Nothing to complain about with this stay! The room and bathroom were spotless. The bathroom was sparkling clean. The room was quite comfortable, quiet, and in a great old house. The owners are super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.
