Stayed in the this lovely, up-market establishment for two days with friends in September 2017. It's a quiet and relaxing place in the hills just outside of the Costa Smeralda yet within 30 mins drive of all the key locations (Porto Cervo, the eastern beaches, Palau).
Pros:
- Good location (but probably not great). Close to everything but not a stone's throw.
- Super restaurant. The restaurant is well regarded across CS, and we enjoyed eating there so much that we went back for a second night (despite there being lots of other good restaurants in the area).
- Great service. Francesca and Athena were only too willing to attend to our needs.
- Beautiful grounds and lovely pool. We didn't get to enjoy them as it was very windy (as it is wont to be in September), but they would be a big plus at a different time of the year.
Cons
- The beds. My only real gripe with the whole experience was the quality of the beds. Ours was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. Two poor nights sleep ensued.
- Decor in the rooms is quite traditional. I wouldn't go so far to say its dated but it's not really my style. Also, the terraces aren't very secluded.
It was a generally good experience however. With better beds and an opportunity to use the pool, this would've been 5 out of 5.
Go if: you're looking for a relaxed break in peaceful surroundings and great food at a venue where you can access the Costa Smeralda's gems with a short drive.
Avoid if: you want to feel in the thick of everything, and want ready access to the area's best beaches.

I can only recommend this place. Very nicely located, remote but still close to nice places and beaches. Very friendly and careful stuff, good food and very nice set up of rooms, pool and bar. Perfect place to unwind.

We spent here our first part of our honeymoon.
2nd part was directly at the sea.
We spent here one week in one of the superior rooms up the hill with private pool.
The site is almost perfect.
Very remote and relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly and contained stuff.
Original architecture with high grade accessories.
Amazing food! Sardinia is not know for its seafood. Traditionally they are no fishermen but sheperds. Here they have a loot meat. Lamb, pork, boar (and game/venison in general), beef, poultry, sausages...
Of course you get fish and all kinds of seafood, too.
If you are looking for something special to relax and to make some daytrips to the amazing back country of Sardinia...this is the place to be.
Also highly recommended for children. They have a lot to discover here.

We stayed at Stazzo Lu Ciaccaru with our two children aged 7 & 9 during the school holidays. The resort is chic, small, and in a very pretty countryside setting. The rooms and grounds are very well kept, and the pool is particularly pleasant with large comfortable sun beds and the nicest big fluffy towels I have been given by any hotel!!! There is a great, cool, cocktail bar on the hill overlooking the farm that serves drinks from 3pm. The restaurant is nice enough, but you can find better food if you are prepared to venture out. On reflection, it was a little quiet for our kids. I think it is an ideal base for a family that would like to go sight-seeing or spend the day at the beach, then return for a quick swim and dinner in the evening.

I stayed here with my 7 month old daughter and mum for a week. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel special- the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and our needs. They even bought us a lovely surprise on my mum's birthday- just one example of how they go above and beyond! We had a pool between 4 rooms in the junior suite and most of the time had the pool to ourself. It was a lovely temperature with fantastic views. The food in the restaurant was very good and our baby was welcome, giving it a real "family friendly" vibe.
The grounds are beautiful and even though we thought we'd get down to the beach loads we actually preferred hanging round the hotel- the pool, gardens and our rooms were so comfortable! Big thank you to the staff and owner for a perfect holiday :)
