We chose the Stonecroft for a one-night weekend B&B stay, based on previous reviews, whilst attending an athletics event in Sheffield. We were not disappointed.
Our hosts, John & Christine, were very welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful.
The hotel is a little gem. Very well kept, comfortably decorated and furnished and with all the amenities we look for. The room was well appointed, spotlessly clean and comfortable. TV reception was a little patchy, but this was minor.
Breakfast was very good, too. (A personal afterthought - Black Pudding to be added to the menu?).
We don't normally like 'chain' pub eateries, but we ate at the King Henry (5 mins walk), purely for convenience as we arrived fairly late, but you'd have to go further afield for a wider and better choice of cuisine.
A pleasant stay, excellent value; we'd happily stay here again.
PS: our SatNav insisted on taking us to the wrong end of Main Street (below the one-way section), but we found the hotel soon enough when we used the GPS (Lat/Long) co-ordinates provided on our booking.com booking (it didn't have the house number, 138, in the address).
Fantastic Stay!!!! Highly Recommended

I stayed at the Stonecroft Hotel on a two night business trip, the rooms were like a home from home, and the bed sheets had the most beautiful aroma, and I had a great nights sleep on both nights. The breakfast in the morning was a pure delight!!!
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area!!!

This is a nice place tucked away in a village in Rotherham; stayed on business and had a comfortable stay. Lovely rooms period features and great decor/furniture. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. Very quiet place which was what I needed after a long day at work. Pleasant hosts

What a delightful and cosy place. Myself and my wife selected this Hotel from many available in the area on the basis of its reviews and AA rating. We were not disappointed.
I expected it to be a much bigger establishment from looking at some of the pictures, but, to our delight it was a smaller affair which greatly added to its overall charm.
It was quiet despite other guests being in residence and the staff/owners could not have been more welcoming, while at the same time not overpowering and fussy.
The food was superb for evening meal and breakfast, both being cooked to perfection.
On the whole it was a very comfortable and cosy stay to end a great weekend of travelling covering some 300 miles. Also in my opinion the winner of my "bed of the trip" award for a supremely comfortable nights sleep.
We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and myself have just visited Rotherham and needed a hotel for one night. We chose Stonecroft after reading previous views even though it is slightly outside town. We were not disappointed , the hotel is lovely , delightfully quaint ,spotlessly clean and the room was very comfortable as was the bed, lovely little extra homely touches here and there. Also very quiet no traffic noise etc. The whole hotel is really charming and cosy.
The best of it though was the lady who owns it ,Christine, is so welcoming . We felt totally at home the minute we walked in.
Breakfast was perfect couldn't fault in any way and Christine was kind enough to provide a breakfast for my son who met us there.
We could have bussed easily into the town centre but a local taxi firm was quick and reasonable. I would highly recommend Stonecroft Hotel .
