We planned a weekend at the Biltmore House during the Christmas holiday. We stayed at Super 8, it was very close to our destination. The room was very clean, quiet and fast check in process. Would stay again....

I'll start with a positive: the bed was super comfy and clean. They weren't lying about getting new pillowtop beds.
With that being said, it's a shame that Asheville has upped the prices of hotels to the point that on a work trip we had to resort to staying at the Super 8 but still pay $100+. The hotel boasts that it is "updated" but I think by updated they just bought new Ikea furniture. The first room we were given smelled so bad of sour milk (or cat piss) that I was afraid to put my clothes on anything but the luggage holder rack. After a night or two in the smell, of which we assumed was just normal for a Super 8, we realized that our sink was leaking and had soaked the floor for god knows how long, and we called and asked for a new room. At first, the staff wasn't very friendly, but once they realized we actually had a real issue in the old room they were more receptive. The new room smelled so much better. Making us realize the intensity of the other room's smell, we couldn't have been the first guest to notice the leak.
With the new room, things were much better. Small things that you'd think would be fixed in an update, though were not, like the vent in the shower which was flaking paint in the first room and completely busted through in the second. The back parking lot is a TIGHT squeeze. In the end, it worked. Location was fine and we never felt unsafe. If you're on a budget, it's worth it.

Recent renovation looks good. Very quiet on back side. Very, very tight parking in back. Shower peeling ceiling paint and very old dirty exhaust vent. Very good comfortable beds. Breakfast OK but limited. Is trying to compete with hotels surrounding Super 8.
Priced higher than expected. All hotels are priced high due to Biltmore tourist year round season.
Would stay again if I was unable to find a better place.

This is the best Super 8 that I have ever stayed at, even better than some Hiltons and Hyatts. The rooms are new, spacious, and most importantly, the beds are very comfortable and the air conditioner is very quiet. I had a great night's sleep. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. The next time I am in Asheville NC, I will definitely stay here.
