Super8 - Coeur d'Alene

Business visit, budget stay in CdA
predragt2017on 15/11/2017 08:27I was in CdA on business, but didn't want to spend too much. Given the constraints, Super8 CdA was a reasonable choice for lodging. The rooms are comfortable and have everything I need on a business travel like this, incl. reasonably reliable/fast WiFi. The breakfast is decent, although nothing spectacular. In the past, parking was an issue at this Super8, but this time around, there was plenty of space / no problem. The staff is reasonably friendly and helpful.
Incredibly rude desk help. Smells bad.
Laurstravelson 15/11/2017 07:05Rude. Smelled. Dirty grounds, I went to check in and the girl working, (no name tag, but she was a young girl with dyed blonde hair with dark roots), was annoyed with the world. She answered the phone as I walked in. Said, "Super 8 hotel" Then her tone changed to yeah.....yeah.... I thought it was someone she knew by unprofessional, annoyed tone. Then she said, "We only have singles left." A one second pause and clunk, hung up the phone. She checked me in without any pleasantries exchanged. Handed me a form and said "Look this over to see if it is correct and sign it". While I did, another call came in. She answered, said "Hello?" pause "La****ty! Its on the tv guide!" Clunk. This poor sap had the nerve to not listen to her the first time as to what and where to find the wifi password. It became almost comical to watch how annoyed she was with every call, and with me for disturbing by walking through the door. The room smelled, coffee maker wasn't cleaned but decided to live with it, figuring we got the pet room and that is the price you pay for having a dog with you. But realized it seemed to worsen as the air conditioner went. I got very concerned because I looked at other reviews on yelp and saw a woman was charged the 200 fee for smoking in the room and she is a non smoker. I went down to the desk to tell the girl our room smells and we should not expect that charge. But she was never at the desk. One trip down a guy had been waiting and he said he thinks he will try somewhere else. I said, "I am telling you right now, you are better off if you do!" I am not sure why the people with dogs are put on the third floor. Pretty inconvenient, especially with no elevator. There is only a small patch of grass outside the side door to take your dog that is littered with cigarette butts and piles of dog poop. Or you can walk behind the hotel where it seems everyone goes to let their dogs poop and not pick it up. Breakfast was crowded. No pastries or muffins so everyone waiting in line for waffle maker and toasters. Listen to the negative reviews on yelp. They are true. You may be one of the lucky ones if you try this hotel, but you probably have better odds of winning a jackpot at the casino than having a pleasant stay here.
Overnight stay

Hotel is old and outdated
k3k10on 29/10/2017 16:37The good: inexpensive and staff are very nice. Close to restaurants. 20 min drive to Silverwood.
The bad: gross carpets, old terrible bed, lumpy pillow.
This place needs a renovation badly, or at least new beds/bedding.
