Your worst Nightmare
beachykeen2013on 09/01/2017 15:53Where should I start? My mom and I stayed here during my best friends bridal shower. We have stayed here before, many of times when it was previously Super 8. It was low end but budget friendly. However this trip was unforgettable. . Food was left in fridge, curtains were ripped, no breakfast was served, room key did not work, door wouldn't latch, dusty and dead bugs, used soap was left in the bathroom with men's shaving cream used in the sink with hair. Don't stay here!
Just passing through
Jordan Lon 16/08/2016 00:06Took forever to find the hotel lol..Once I arrived people who checked me in were suspect. Arrived at the room. I am always Leary about hotels that open up to the outside instead of into their own building..Room was clean. Good deal for 50 dollars.Bed was hard but welcoming after so many hours of travel.
Stay Away
Ford2carson 01/07/2016 21:06We overnighted at the Mayfield Inn during its transition from Super 8. It was a disturbing experience. I fear for Super 8 if their management lets a facility such as this represent them. I had higher regard for Super 8 before this. I hope Mayfield Inn has money to put into this facility to do a complete facelift, including the local management.
The desk clerk in the evening was helpful though not particularly professional. The room was very dirty feeling. We are not particularly germophobic, but we got out our flip flops to wear in this room as the carpet didn't look very clean. We had serious doubts whether the bed linens had been changed since the previous occupants. The floor creaked. Fortunately it was a quick over night so we only needed a place to sleep.
For breakfast, they had a very modest selection at best, I could even say, poor. It was laid out in the office/lobby area. There was no staff to be seen. The ceiling in the breakfast area had significant water stains, but why was I surprised at this?
This motel had potential due to its location near I-80. Poor maintenance and management has plunged it to where it is at. Hopefully Mayfield can pull it out. It will take time to rebuild confidence in it and overcome the problems of the past. For the near term, 2016 and probably 2017, I would steer clear.
HORRIBLE
Denise Fon 20/06/2016 15:57No battery in the smoke detector. Battery's were dead in the TV remote. Pool was not open. Used soap was in the shower. No new wrapped soap was available. Had a coffee pot but no coffee. Paint was peeling off ceiling. Internet only worked sometimes.
Never again
David Don 17/04/2016 05:19This is the very first time staying at this motel. As soon as we pulled up to the check-in, I instantly had regret and wish I would've spent $20 more at comfort Inn. The check-in area smelled of old musty cigarettes. The room we got smelled like musty mildew and stale air. The room definitely needs a major update, new carpets, bed spreads, faucets, and could a flat screen TV hurt (the room had, YES, a tube tv). If it wasn't for my bf being so tired and talking me in to staying because it was only one night, I would've cut my losses and went to comfort Inn. I just hope we dont get bedbugs or roaches like past reviews.. I've learned my lesson for sure. Never will I ever stay at Super 8/Mayfield Inn again!!
