I’ve stayed here more than once. The TV’s are preset to go dark after 5 minutes to save energy. The problem is they get so dark you can’t see what’s on the screen. You have to constantly turn the TV off and on every 5 minutes. Aaarrrgghh.
The lobby is too warm due to all components in there (ice machine, vending machine, refrigerator, etc.).
There are no proteins at breakfast.
All carbs.
There are better choices in town. Odds are they are all owned by the same family.

In my travels, in Oct 2017 and Nov. 2017, I used TravelAdvisor to look ahead to find places to stay in towns I had driven all day and was unsure how far I would get to. Just Drove till I got tired, TripAdvisor was able to find me a nice place to stay hours ahead of my stop. I had no worries about not being able to get a room. TripAdvisor found me usually Super 8;s and Salem was one of the best. Clean, Great service and Nice rooms. I'm handicapped to a point. I have a very hard time with stairs, I asked for a ground floor because of this and was given a room where I had to go down 4-5 steps. Carrying my overnight bag down these steps was very painful. Their meaning of ground floor and mine is not the same. Handicap does not include stairs does it? I have a pull bag with larger wheels ,getting it down was okay but the next morning was painful.My husband helped me as much as he could. That is my only complaint.

Super 8 in salem was everything you would expect. Reasonable price, clean room, good breakfast,and nice staff.

Great people working there very friendly, helpful, & professional! I really enjoyed staying there! I can’t say enough about the staff!! Great friendly people! The room was clean and comfortable.I will stay there again and recommend this motel to my friends! Thank you sincerely John Hall!!!

This hotel was perfect for our overnight stay. It was clean and comfortable and the front desk staff was very friendly as well as concerned that we enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again.
