Nice people, terrible accommodations.
Shaynie Son 18/05/2017 23:09Bob, who stated he is the yard care guy, was in charge during our stay. He was nice and tried to be accommodating. The hostel is located a couple miles down the road on the opposite side of the street by the Pool Bar and not where it indicates it's listed. The hostel had no other guests which was creepy. They could not find our reservation without a 15 minute wait. The room we were staying in had a bathroom door that did not shut. The walls had putty on them and were not fully painted. There was mold in the shower. We were told we'd be upgraded to another room when other guests left. No guest was ever seen going in or going out.
Our "package" included all of our meals. That was not communicated to Bob and he didn't have fruits or vegetables to serve. He had meat and rice. We ate all but 4 meals out of 24 out and feel that the expense that we paid for the package was a waste. We were required to pay for our bottled water.
The pool stands empty, the bars are shut down, the restaurant is a room with tables strewn about. They keep the place very clean. If you stay here have realistic expectations about what it is and isn't and negotiate a really cheap rate.
Kindest people in the resort business
maisiovon 07/01/2017 05:24This was a little difficult to find in the dark but worth the effort. They served us dinner like we were at a 5 star hotel. They helped us figure out how to get cash in town. They were accomodating when I needed additional rest. I would absolutely recommend this place.

Liz Eon 24/08/2016 04:24Booked it online according to the pictures. Pictures were very decieving. Were going to stay for 5 days, left after 1 night. No wifi in rooms and pool was disgusting. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.
Worse hotel experience in my life
siella72on 14/07/2016 00:53Stayed 5 days , and first of all , that is not a resort , its a below average hotel /hostal , no doors in the bathroom pay a lot of money to stay there, my suggestion stay in another place and if you don't find a hotel in belmopan area, go to san ignacio or belize city DON'T STAY THERE
Bizarre luxury and contageious kindness
wanderingdog1on 06/04/2016 22:32As the road got smaller and smaller, we questioned our judgement on this internet booking. When it turned into not much more than a goat path, we almost turned around. We are so glad we didn't! Kathy came to greet us with her infectious smile, and continued our stay with great conversation, a loving heart, two fine sons and some home-cooked meals. It was Easter weekend, the staff was gone and we were the only guests, which was lovely because we got more time to hang out with our hosts. The hotel has ornate decorations, white-table-cloth dining, a pool table, carved wood furniture and handmade stone bathrooms -- but is a very funky fancy. Fruit trees and good bird watching abound outside, and the location is very convenient, central to the airport, many ruins, zoo, cave tubing, zip-lining, etc. Ask to try Kathy's special homemade hot sauce. Thanks, Kathy -- we will be back to visit!!!
