The wife and I needed a quick over night hotel while making a short family visit. We are familiar with the area so we were not too picky given the off season. Other reviewers were pretty correct in everything...a basic hotel...Our one night was fine, but I cannot see spending a week here in the summer.
Best part...the bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean, towels, etc. were ok. On the downside, our room had no room lamps, we used the overhead light on the stove. Outside security lights are BRIGHT ! No room curtains only shades gave a fairly bright room. Small stuff...coffee pot was busted...sink and tube drains were SLOW !! ...room had several major cracks in the ceiling. Wifi was very weak to useless.
Staff was friendly at check in and check out. Overall..older motel needing some fixing over the winter.

i love this hotel, They are very friendly and they know alot.I have been coming here since 2010 before I got marry. This is how friendly they are on the day we got married we were running very late to get there and I called the hotel and they stayed till after closing time 1230 to be correct and check us in and it did not upset them at all. That is how friendly they are and i am still not done they have the most comfortable beds in the world. They are very affordable. Great view of the beach.All of the staff is helpful. They are very clean hotel too

So the idea of going to the beach for the weekend is to be on the beach in a room with a view. We got that at the Surfside. Several other positives were the price, fridge and microwave, TV with cable, free WiFi and pretty comfortable beds. Definitely some negatives though and if you spend all your time on the beach then you could argue who needs anything else right? Our room faced the ocean and boardwalk, unfortunately the blinds on the sliding door had only modest coverage so the boardwalk lights crept in all night. And no drapes on front window. Definitely no need for a night light. Pretty bright in the room all night. So on the less than positive side was the bathroom. Tiniest ever with a shower (not very clean) for very short people only, no towel rack (had been ripped off wall), faulty outlet and lots of mildew on tiles. No hair dryer either. WiFi was usable if you sat outside to work (good reason to leave work at home on the weekend). Staff was very nice and friendly, and we did have a nice weekend despite the room conditions. Made for a good laugh and lots of memories.

My best friend, Shannon, and I always stay at Surfside when visiting Carolina Beach. Our favorite room is 33 and we love Janet and Brenda in the office. The other staff that we have encountered have always been very friendly and helpful if we need assistance with anything. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. It's location is great. We've stayed here numerous times and it's my choice to stay at any time I visit Carolina Beach. Thank you to the owners, Brenda, Janet and other staff ... we will be seeing yall again as soon as we can :)

Came back to Surfside for a mini vacation.Could not ask for a more friendly and helpful staff.Sabrina the front desk clerk goes above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be at Carolina Beach..The rooms are always nice neat and clean,Walking distance to everything when we come here we just park the car till we have to leave.I look forward to our next stay in January.Oh and the cleaning ladies are amazing.
