Relaxing and peaceful home stay

We had a great stay in this family-run home stay. Downtown Jodphur is busy and noisy so having somewhere quiet and peaceful to stay out of the city centre chaos was wonderful. Walking into the house we immediately felt relaxed and at home. Sajjan is an excellent host who was always on hand if you needed anything, as well as having some great stories to tell. We had dinner here one night and the home cooked food was delicious. Rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable. Compared to other places we stayed in India, we had some quiet nights and great sleeps while staying at Surya Kunj, And you can get views of the Fort from the rooftop terrace. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay with Sajjan in his beautiful home. It really felt like you were welcomed in to his home. He is good company and an excellent story teller. As well as having a lovely labrador, Sabre which was a highlight for us. The dinner was excellent and superb value. Would highly recommend. Thank you Sajjan and family.

Excellent home stay at Surya Kunj !!

After a lot of search on stay in jodhpur during our Rajasthan trip,we finally zeroised on Surya kunj home stay based on reviews we found on net. First,we were little sceptical on place since it was not hotel type and second it was not luxurious.

But the moment we entered in Surya Kunj, we were greatly welcomed by Mr. Sajjan singh (owner of place ) along with his dog Sabre (labrador - which my wife loved the most ) and on a great surprise, we were offered premium room against the standard room we booked. Sajjan ji had offered us snacks and tea/coffee since it was very tired journey for us from jaisalmer and we had a tea with him.

He made sure that we wont feel alone and every time we have tea or breakfast, he spent a time with us ensuring we get the ever best treatment.
Believe me, Sajjan ji is by far the most knowledgeable person we met recently. He is a great story teller and we got to know a lot of about rajasthan history and we just loved it!!

Even he had arranged whole itinerary of jodhpur starting from where to go,where to eat,where to shop !! On breakfast and dinner part - it was a lovely and so tasty food we had at Surya Kunj !! It is even better then what we normally have at five stars hotels!!

Overall fantastic experience and we recommend to every person.

A home stay run by the family and everthing is supervised by them. Lot of care and attention to all your basic needs taken care of. Located in a quite area without much of traffic disturbance. Good parking space. Very friendly staff. Very neat and clean rooms. Value for money.

The highlight of my visit to Jodhpur

Surya Kunj is literally a home stay. You have the chance to stay in the home of the Singh family and chat with its members. They have built a very nice visitors' area within their home which has several rooms. Each room is named after a relative in the family. Meals are homemade and may feature ingredients from the family garden. Sajjan Singh joined me during the meals and chatted with me about his family's life in Jodhpur, history, and many other topics. He writes science fiction, and is quite a good storyteller!

The home was sanitary, had good WiFi, and tasty food. I would be sure to stay at Surya Kunj the next time I visit Jodhpur.
