Found this fabulous B&B quite late in the day and was a little apprehensive as I don't do impulsive - thankfully any worries I had were soon allayed - a wonderfully clean and pleasant place to use as a base while exploring Scarborough and the surrounding area. Also a wonderfully generous breakfast if you ask nicely (for those with a more robust appetite like myself)

Spent two nights with a group of 4 other friends staying at this old seaside B&B.
I wasn't expecting too much having previously been to a shabby place a few years ago in Scarborough.
Sylvern House is very clean, well presented and all the fixtures and fittings are in very good order.
The owners are extremely welcoming and even arranged parking in their alleyway for our motorbikes.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and to a high standard.
I would highly recommend staying there to anyone and intend to use it the next time I visit.

We stayed here for 4 nights as a group and would definitely recommend Sylvern house. Great location, Quick and simple check in, delicious breakfast and really comfy beds!! What more could you ask for. Would stay again.

Although the area was looking a little shabby, The Sylvern was very nice .. I had a nice single room with ensuite... Lovely.... Breakfast served in lovely room and very enjoyable ... Richard couldn't have been more attentive... Really enjoyed my s

Great location close to town and central for both beaches but beaches all downhill, friendly host, parking free and we had no problem, a great breakfast with plenty of choice (not greasy) there was free wi-fi which has reasonable speed
