Fantastic base for a family holiday
davei_10on 17/11/2017 11:01What a beautiful hotel with comfortable, spacious rooms for my family. It is an excellent base to explore the area and to visit my wife’s large family who lives in Sparta. The local restaurants were superb and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening meals. The hotel itself was very peaceful with excellent staff and our batteries were recharged as we have very busy lives back at home. Highly recommended.
Amazing place
Giorgos Kon 05/11/2017 01:03Friendly staff, the room was awesome. The best choice for couples! The village is a friendly place. It is only 18 minutes to Sparta but you can also drink a coffee or eat in the square (center) of Ksirokampi.
Greek Bed and Breakfast
Alison Gon 13/09/2017 11:13We wished we had stayed longer. This little charming bed and breakfast was great for our needs. The two rooms we had were both lovely and very clean and the air conditioning was perfect. The three staff members we met were very nice, helpful and clearly very proud of their little hotel- as they should be. The breakfast was also quite something- all homemade and delicious with a small, but varied choices.
Only downside is that there is not much in the direct vicinity, but Sparti is only a 15 minute drive so not that much of an issue. Plus, it is not far from the incredible Mystras site.
Definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere calm and relaxing in the area.

Pet Kon 26/08/2017 18:25Easy check-in. We rented the Alkuoni, two-storey suite with 2 AC units; one on loft and one in the staircase. Kept the room very cool. Impressive dining area with exposed stone walls and timber roof trusses. Quiet garden in courtyard. The staff are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to assist. Our daily breakfast served at the country house consisted primarily of small pre-made omelets, turopita or spanakopita, a variety of breads for toasting, ham and cheese slices, three different cookie types (ouzo, orange, or moustokouloura), all you can drink coffee and fresh orange juice and more. Don’t expect a big breakfast but nonetheless there is enough to keep you full until lunch. If you are there for a few nights (HIGHLY recommended) the staff will know where your favourite table is and will serve your drinks.
The country house is situated in the village of Xirokambi. A relatively small village with a beautiful square full of tables from the various restaurants and cafes. Across from the country house is the church of Agia Triada (Holy Trinity). The church bell that chimes on the hour and at the bottom of the hour can be heard in the rooms but it is something you quickly get used to and after a short while you don’t even notice it.
The beach near Gytheio is only a 25min. drive away. If you are looking for mountain hiking instead, you should drive towards the village of Goranoi (15min drive) and head to Gola. The view of mount Taygetos is simply breathtaking. You feel like you can reach out and touch the tip. “Faris” is the only restaurant in the Gola vicinity and you should stop by and have lunch or dinner. Host George is very personable.
Near Taleton, there are a few bakeries nearby as are mini-markets. Be aware of their hours of operation because, as is the case in most Greek cities, the stores are not open from morning until night continuously.

If you are ever in the vicinity of Sparta and are looking for a quiet and hospitable place, you MUST NOT miss the opportunity to stay at the TSCH.
Nothing to do in Xirokambi, airconditioning not working well.
Brigitte Son 29/07/2017 08:11The rooms are big. The breakfast was OK (bread was not fresh). The cooling system is noisy and does not work well. There are restaurants in Xirokambi, they give you a nice overview on paper, but some of them did not exist anymore. There are not shops. There were some small grocery stores which were not always open. The drive to Mystras is 30 minutes. To the beach is 30 minutes. And in Xirokambi there is actually nothing to see. We read about the bridge, which we visited after asking directions at the reception. The pool was filled with water, but we could not swim. They didn't work on finishing the surroundings of the pool, so it will take quite some time before you can use it, probably next summer. Everyday different people at reception/breakfast.
Rooms are overpriced!
