Hardworkingteacheron 17/11/2017 01:55The Aspen allows for lovely views of the surrounding mountains ( the Remarkables) and across lake Wakatipu. Unfortunately we arrived at night and were pointed in the general direction of our room and were left to wandered around outside in the dark to find our numbers and an arrow at the base of an unlit stairway. The lights were also off on the balcony which made finding our room number tricky. As day broke the scenery was stunning and the views generous.We could see in the daylight that the hotel was undergoing needed renovations but I couldn't help but feel that with a little effort the front desk could have saved us the unpleasantness of the night before. The tariff wasn't excessive and the room was clean.
Comfortable rooms
Natalia Non 11/11/2017 06:28The view from restaurant is gorgeous. Unfortunately we were on a room without view. Rooms are comfortable, very comfy bed and good showers. Breakfast was below expectation. It’s close to the city center, but you have to drive. Receptionist was very nice and welcoming.
Enjoyable stay
Josie Jon 23/10/2017 01:16I stayed in the Classic Room with Courtyard View which was more like a view of the car park, hotel and of the mountain tops. The room was clean, had a very small bar fridge and a heater which heated the room quickly. As the heater did heat the room fast, it took a while to cool room down when it got too hot as there was only a very small window in the room. The room had 1 single bed along with a double bed but was in fact two single beds put together so there was a gap/lump straight down the middle of the 'double bed'. The beds however were very comfortable. The room wasn't very soundproof as I could hear the sound of the cars from the road and the people from upstairs walking around.
There was free continental breakfast which was nice and the views from the restaurant is a 10 out of 10. The laundry facility was great, probably the best public washing machine/dryer I've ever used. It cost $4 for 1 load of washing and $4 for the dryer. The local bus stops right inside of the hotel car park which was great for me as I did not have a car. I purchased an Adult 7 day Connectabus GoCard from the bus company which cost me $47 plus $5 card issue fee which allows unlimited travel of the bus service in Queenstown for 7 days. Overall my stay was comfortable, I loved that there was free breakfast, lovely views and access to reliable public transport.

Klyondon 13/10/2017 02:36For the price here and what you get, it can't be beat. Free wifi, comfortable rooms, gorgeous views and nice breakfast, well worth the affordable price. It is a bit up the way from Queenstown so we did have a car. It would be about a 15-20 minute walk down but then you would have to walk back up the hill! Five stars for the overall price and what you get for the price! I only wish their was a jacuzzi overlooking the city!

Tony Gon 12/10/2017 21:09Stayed here with my aged father on a road trip around the south. Room was a little dated and worn but only stayed for the night. Great bus service outside reception so leave the car and take bus. Great view from breakfast area.
