My room was on the side facing the road so was a little bit noisy with traffic going past till late at night as well as a wedding in full swing. Rooms are OK and mine did have a sitting area as well as a sleeping area. The gardens at he back overlook the Ganga and it is a short walk to the footbridge. Nearby just before the bridge is a German Bakery which is highly recommended instead of eating a buffet breakfast in the rather dull and uninteresting dining room of the hotel.
Room service was painfully slow and I had to chase several times to get my laundry back in time to pack before sleeping as we had a 4 am departure.
Initially I was shocked to discover we were so far out of Rishikesh but actually enjoyed the long walk over the footbridge to the second footbridge and into the town.

We stayed in this hotel for a day (23rd November 2013 to the 24th). Despite the flashy images posted on their site we found the property average. The rooms were not carpeted nor did they provide a flask for tea or coffee. Hot water provisions from low quality geysers were another factor. After a quarter of a bucket was filled with Luke warm water,cold water poured out from the taps. Do not be taken in by what you see in their web site. I would not recommend this place given that there are better options in Rishikesh at more competitive prices.

Hotel Tapovan was an oasis up in the mountains. Beautiful gardens, great restaurant, excellent exchange rate for currency. Staff lovely. Rooms large and airy. Power intermittent and cell phone coverage nix, but who cares!
