Worth every penny
Cinnamin57on 19/11/2017 02:46This hotel is up the hill from the train station (7 minute walk as its call uphill) with a lovely view of the surrounding rooftops and mountain. Right nearby shops, restuarants and hot springs with a small park right in front of the hotel. The wifi is only accessible from the lobby but its a cozy and comfortable place to sit and and have coca tea while catching up on FB. ( ha-ha)! The breakfast is plentiful and fresh. We were on the 6th floor which provided the best views. Friendly helpful staff. Will definately return.
Memorable for the wrong reasons
Eddie Oon 04/11/2017 23:53The hotel was excellent. Staff were willing and eager to help. Breakfast was fantastic. They offer a storage service while you travel to Machu Picchu and even offer a service allowing for your bags to be transported to the rail for the return after Machi Picchu.
The rooms were large and spacious. The views from the room excellent.
But what was memorable was waking at 406 am to the sound of what I thought was torrential rain. Looked outside and no rain. Went to the bathroom and water on the floor. Looked for the leak and not until inside did I see the leak was above me. Water coming through a ventilation window and the noise.
Rang reception and reported it and requested towels to dry the bathroom. Open the door awaiting arrival of the guy and the corridor is an inch under water.
Lift door opens and said staff member trudges through water to our room. He can see the problem and I request towels and he opens a door next to the room to hot water spraying out. Shuts doir, races to stairs and returns two minutes later with second staff member.
Door opens, towels provided as at this stage the HWS has been turned off. He assists in drying bathroom floor after which I return to bed wondering how will this play out with no hot water for guests, kitchen and breakfast and a host of angry patrons. 2 hours later go to breakfast and no sign of water in corridor. Hot water running and all seemingly normal. You would not have known there had been a broken hot water pipe and a flooded floor.
It seems the hotel has a dual set of pipes for hot water and was able to transfer the water to the other pipes.
The hotel was great. You cannot be blamed for accidents but they had a backup plan and great staff who managed a potentially difficult situation well.

Great location; great service
datwoofus-Lon 29/10/2017 13:01The hotel is conveniently located for walking around town. It has excellent views from the rooms. The staff is very friendly and solicitous. They packed us a lunch for our tour of Machu Picchu since we left too early to catch the hotel breakfast.
