The setting of the Hotel is spectacular and our room was utterly charming with a separate bedroom and small lounge area - very comfortable as well as attractive. The meals were good and there were a number of lovely common lounge areas.The location is rather remote but our hostess assured us that a car and driver could be arranged to take you where ever you wished to go including pick up and drop off from Florence. We will certainly return

The rooms are lovely. The setting is remote, down a dirt road. Had a fantastic meal at the restaurant tonight. Lamb and sea bass. Candlelit setting. Looking forward to the two pools tomorrow. The service was top notch as well.

We have been traveling all around Italy for our honeymoon and this is one of the most amazing locations we have seen. We loved our time here! We were so lucky to have our room upgraded and we enjoyed the sunrise in the mornings and star gazing on the terrace every evening. The food at the restaurant is simply delicious - all fresh from the region. The surroundings are beautiful and the setting is relaxing and peaceful. The pool is well-maintained and the facilities are unique (library etc). The staff are friendly and helpful. We wish we booked for a longer stay! Most definitely recommend if you appreciate beautiful scenery and good food. You definitely need a car.

We stayed here two nights. Very fine and upscale hotel with a lovely view over the valley. A good restaurant at the hotel and nice pool area. It's a fantastic and romantic hotel in the hills and a must to stay when in Chianti.

Our second visit to this amazing hotel set deep in the Chianti hills. Beautiful room with terrace - the perfect place to relax and take in the views, peace and quiet and just soak up the very special atmosphere. Wonderful food - the best of our holiday - and staff that treat you as a valued customer make Ricavo a very wonderful place to stay. Two swimming pools mean that you often have one to yourself - just swim and enjoy the views - amazing. When you want to go out the 'sights' are very close, Siena, Florence and San Gimeano. We can't wait to return and are planning our next trip. We spent two weeks travelling in France and Italy but without question Ricavo was the highlight of our holiday.
