24 of us had lunch at the abbey hotel. We had to pre-order but the food was good, if a little pricey and generally the hotel coped well with our numbers considering it was very busy. Jugs of water on the tables was a nice touch and the food was presented nicely.

We were visiting Battle Abbey and decided to pop across the road for lunch. Nice garden out the back so we decided to sit out there with the kids. The children's menu kept them happy and the ploughmans lunch was amazing. Service was a little haphazard but all the little problems were fixed. Would definitely consider going back for lunch again.

From start to end! The Abby and staff are revolting, I have never had such a bad experience! The food was terrible and the staff rude and ignorant (the managements daughter of all people). Shall never return

I booked a table for 6 of us for a reunion.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
The service throughout the afternoon was excellent and Lauren was so courteous and helpful
We had lunch which was fine.

Visited this lovely pub for a meal after 2pm recently. We waited ages to get served at the table, pub wasn't that busy, then ordered lunch which when it arrived, the Lamb Koftas on both plates were clearly overcooked,hard and looked as if they had been purchased from the local supermarket! The entire meal was unappetising and uninspiring.The couscous had too many peppers in it and the salad was also well overdosed with peppers yet my partners salad had none at all! The manager walked past several times asking other people eating nearby if all was OK yet we seemed to be somewhat invisible! The guy came to take our plates away containing most of the meal, he asked us was everything OK to which I replied no it wasn't explaining re the overcooked lamb, especially. He was polite and said ''I will tell the chef'' then went off but never returned! It would have been positive if he or someone like the manager had returned to speak to us to offer a partial refund. We paid full amount but would never eat there again as to serve up a meal looking like this was clearly unacceptable.
