First time travelling to Africa wasn't too sure what to expect as my company booked my hotel. I was greeted at the airport by a very friendly driver who took me to my hotel. Having done a bit of research on the hotel and reading the reviews I was a but sceptical but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was located in a residential area surrounded by houses that I would expect to see in Beverly Hills haha. There was a short 15 minute drive into the centre of Accra which was ideal for my meetings and also the hotel was happy to accommodate meetings which I wanted to host at the hotel. The food was nice the service was prompt and of a good standard. If I was to go back to Ghana i wouldnt hesitate to rebook this hotel.
Must stay

This is one of my favourite places to stay in accra. I have visited the city several times in the past and I have stayed at The Aknac on three occasions now. The ambiance is truly soothing especially when compared to some other hotels in the area.
Amazing as always

Love this gem of a hotel. Its my 4th visit hete and i love it. The staff are soo good and courteous nothing is an issue for them. My husband is a huge fan of Aknac as he's extremely fussy lol. The food is excellent i think we've had most dishes on the menu now. I love it because i know me, my husband and children are very safe here. Will see you again same time next year. Cordelia and family.
great hotel for business

i was reccomended this hotel by my business partner in ghana. I stayed here for a week. The hotel was ideal for me as it was quiet and away from the dangerous noisy streets of accra. The hotel was quiet enough for me to conduct my business meetings in the communial areas and only a 15 minute drive to Accra. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they were able to help me and advise me on taxi's and rough taxi prices when my partner was not around. The food was really nice and reasonable priced and the breakfast and the view was really good. I'm returning to Ghana next month and have already rebooked my stay.
I was robbed and the Hotel WAS NOT BOTHERED! DENIED CCTV ACCESS.

On the 14th of April 2017, I was checked into Aknac hotel at about 8:30 pm by Salome, the front desk receptionist. I was made to pay a sum of $200.98 to cover two nights (14th and 15th). I was lodged in room 112 which used an electronic card entry system. After dinner, I came back to my room to sleep by 10:30 pm and woke up by 04:30 am to organize my items and charge my phones only to realize that my work bag was missing. I raised an alarm down stairs where I met the security officer (Kam kam) and Mr. Kennedy (hotel staff) in the lobby downstairs. The search lead Mr. Kam kam to my room balcony where we saw my bag opened with all its content spilled on the floor. The following items had been stolen:
- Laptop (HP Elitebook 850) ¬ $700
- Cell phone and 2 sim cards (HTC One – new model) $200
- Cash (400 GH cedis)
- 9000 mmAH POWER BANK $20
After the discovery, 4 other guests (in 2 rooms -108 & 211) complained also that they had been robbed of their valuable possessions. They all also found their personal belongings tossed in the balcony. The hotel did not have a competent duty manager on the premise to immediately take charge of the situation. Rather, the chef, receptionists and other junior staff were ordering us to calm down and not to disturb other guests. They were reluctant to take charge of the situation to ascertain the extent of the loss. They were not quick on their feet to even look inwards for a possible insider because there was no sign of a forced entry and ALL FRONT DESK AND "SECURITY" STAFF HAD EASY ACCESS TO THE MASTER KEY. The CCTV cameras located in the hotel room corridors were never reviewed despite repeated requests from we the guests. We asked at 06:00am on the 15th of April and Their response was that “only the IT guy can access it and he lives far away and he is on his way”. Up until we left the hotel (15:30pm 16th of April), the IT staff never showed up to review the CCTV. Nobody from the hotel seemed to be genuinely concerned about our plight, we were asked to go to the police station to report the incident by ourselves. Despite the fact that the owners were around during the whole incidence, they never came forward to show support and empathize with us on our loss. The only person that seriously came to our aide was a visitor to the hotel that overhead all out cries and complains and decided to use his influence to get authorities directly involved. The greatest surprise to us was when we were finally told that the CCTVs in the hotel corridors and outside on the walls were not functional. Given the narration of the incidence above, I humbly request that my stolen items should be replaced by the hotel management ($920) and that a refund for my stay at the hotel be granted ($200.98). I have not asked for payment for damages caused (loss of valuable work on my laptop, interruption of my stay in Ghana with repeated trips to the police station and meetings with security operatives), all I have asked for is a replacement & refund. Your swift response to this official written complain would be well appreciated and will determine the next course of action
