i had been to varanasi in december and you can imagine it will be tad cold. the room that was offered to us during that period had AC ..and despite many attempts to shut it down it never did. i had to sleep with my socks and gloves and jacket on. the food sucked as well.had ordered hot chocolate brownie which was completely burnt. breakfast sucked as well. the staff was really rude. they actually wanna just loot people. would never recommend anyone this hotel.

You can get better place to stay. Staff is unfriendly and rude ! basically not interested in offering any kind of service. rooms were ok . Been to this place during winter. we were given a suite. room was ok, but since it was chilling cold outside we expected heater in the room but heater was not there. and the AC didnt go off completely called up the servicing guy twice then it came almost half hour later. but still couldn't solve the issue. the hotel was booked we weren't shifted to another room . the staff and i would say from the managers to the other levels are looters..! my wife had accidently dropped a little tomatoe sauce on the bed. for the replacement of bedsheet which had already had stains. we were charged 1600/-.. 1600/- rupees for a bedsheet!! when we argued. they came to 1200/- and after almost 4 hours of argument they said 600/- but you have to pay it . so they dont even know what is the miscellaneous charges for bedsheet replacement ? the hotel staff is a complete LOOTERS on top of that the FOOD IS EXTREMELY PATHETIC. I had ordered a Brownie in-room, it was completely burnt. and smelled awe full.

After the renovation, Hotel Ideal Tower is renamed and it has become much better. Only thing is one has to wait a lot for lifts as only one lift is working as of now. Their restaurant is nice and the lobby is beautiful.

The Hotel was under renovation when we went there and the entrance was through the hotel next door. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and toilets were clean. Food quality was good and the breakfast spread was quite good...Good sleep quality, except when the hammering starts in the morning ! So late sleeping is not possible....

I stayed there on a official visit for 11 days from 1 to 11 March, 2015. It was Holi time & Varanasi city was all geared up in full festive spirits. Varanasi being the oldest Holy city witnesses a huge tourist footfall in winters most of which are foreigners. Hotel Ideal Tower is among the prominent hotel in Varanasi which offers above average hospitality. Rooms are very spacious & neatly done with upmarket interiors. They have a multi-cuisine restaurant named as 'Red Chilly' which offers a great variety of food for people belonging to all major Nationalities. Hotel staff is courteous enough to deliver all guest needs. Hotel is situated in Cantonment area which is about 6 Kms from Dashaswamedh Ghat & takes about 20 mins to reach by Auto. Auto's are easily available around the hotel but bargaining with them can be quite a job. There are no good Fine Dining options available around the hotel except at 'Grill by the Ocean' in hotel Rivatas adjacent to Ideal tower, food is a bit expensive but great taste makes up for high prices. Overall a satisfactory experience.
