Went here for a weekend away and it 2as pathetic.. first of all the reception staff was a joke he couldn't even understand English and the ignorance of him was beyond a joke .. the room was like something you'd put sheep in for the winter.. will never be back .. my girlfriend's on her last legs for booking this

Great breakfast and very helpful staff for tourists!

My wife and I loved this place. There was a woman there who not only served a tremendous couple of plates of food, but took her time to chat with us. We were sitting in the restaurant area and she described how busy the bar got in the evenings (for music and drinks both). She also brought us around to the hotel front desk and introduced us the the woman there. She was very kind to us and explained some of the surrounding areas of Dublin that we may want to explore (as we had just moved to Dublin from the States). She also gave us a bunch of fliers to review and make use of for local touristy things to do as well as a map of the greater area.

These experiences made Parliament one that I would recommend to tourists who are looking to be in a nice part of town, right across the street from a beautiful church and not far from College Green.

Bravo to the staff! Many thanks!~

Great location, outdated throughout

johnpazza on 11/09/2017 01:06

The hotel isnt a 4star at present, I wouldnt even say it was a 2 star due to the outdated decor, run down carpets, moldy bathrooms and single pain windows.
The hotels location is spot on and for a hotel with such a priveledged location it should be kept to a high standard, Its right on Temple Bar with great access to and from other areas of the city.
The breakfast which is served is nice with a full irish served along with cereals and fruit.

Good hotel in a great downtown location

My husband and I went for a short break to Dublin at the end of August. We wanted somewhere central, and Parliament Hotel is certainly that! Really convenient for sight-seeing, and also very close to the lively Nightlife area of Temple Bar. All the staff at the hotel we met were very friendly and helpful. The decor is a bit tired, but our room was clean and at the back of the building, so we weren't disturbed by street noise at all. Would definitely go back.

3 night stay in Dublin

Shan829 on 06/09/2017 19:24

Pros:
1) location is very central, right in the center of all the pubs and city sights
2) staff is very friendly

Cons:
1) no AC. We left the window opened all day to air out and cool the room
2) the full bed was 2 lumpy twin beds pushed together
3) the whole hotel smelled terrible. Like when you walk into an old restaurant with carpeted floors that haven't been cleaned in years.
4) there were stains on the carpet and chairs in our room. Everything was just old and stained.
5) it is very LOUD. BRING EARPLUGS. We needed to leave the window open bc it was so stuffy, but that just let in all the street noise. We asked for a room away from the main street (from another reviewer's suggestion), but it was still very loud. Car and street noises woke us up several times throughout the night.
