Pathetic experience with reservation. Will not think to go again.

I haven't visited this place, but the overall experience with reservation have left me depressed and I am feeling cheated.
Me and my friend reserved a room at Baradari for 4/11/17. My Reservation Number 1307796. Due to some unavoidable circumstances, we both had to cancel the reservation. we doth made the call on 2/11/17. While my friend got 50% refund as per policy, My wife was returned with update that it'll be 100% deduction and no refund.
We looked for an option to get it re-scheduled, for which they had no immediate reply. They promised a call-back, but that never came. I also sent a mail to them, which was never replied.
Next day when we called again, they said they have taken "special permission" to get it re-scheduled for 50% adjustment. The re-schedule can be done this year only.
I was not able to re-schedule to do my prior reservation with other things, but all this have left me conclude they are bunch cheaters who do not follow even their own policies to extort money out of you.
Nice heritage hotel

Nice boutique hotel in the heart of green belt of Patiala. Royals used to have tea here after walking the gardens of Baradari. Neermana has done a good job of restoring it. Service and amenities are average - maybe due to low occupancy when we stayed here. There’s no room service and restaurant/bar closes at 10PM. However they were nice enough to bring ice and water for drinks to room after that. There was also loud music being played at a temple nearby till 10:30PM - may have been due to festival season. However it added to the charm for me. It’s also walking distance to Maharani Club.
Rude staff and stray dogs sitting on sofas used for guests

Normally one gives a review after vacating a hotel property, but this is the first time I am forced to write review while actually still staying.
What was I expecting
1. Good hospitable stay in a heritage hotel of the stature of neemrana.
2. Decent and friendly hotel staff to make it a comfortable stay.
What I got
1. Essentially rude staff with ready to fight with guests attitude.
2. Guests are a burden for people in this particular hotel which disturbs their life.
3. Stray dogs roaming around and sitting in chairs meant for guests during night. I am sure they must be making guests sit in same chairs the next day.
4. Went to have a drink in bar... Told to sit outside since a personal party was going on in bar. Is that acceptable by any standards?? I don't think so.
5. Wanted to have dinner, but a small interaction with waiters made me realize I am not welcome as the waiter was just ready to fight, I am sure if I would have waited he would have been willing to get physical also.
So came back to my room without having a drink or dinner.
Definitely going to check out tomorrow morning.
Finally
Property is OK with broken tiles and broken furniture lying around. But the management is definitely giving a bad name to Patiala mehmaan nawazi ( taking care of guests).
Totally avoidable... Infact for this price range definitely avoidable.
Lovely Heritage Hotel

We stayed two nights at the Baradari Palace and loved the atmosphere of old colonial charm. The rooms are well-kept and very spacious, managing to keep the feel of a heritage hotel but with the comforts of a modern property. Beds were comfortable, bathroom well-equipped with plenty of hot water, and air-con efficient. Each of the rooms is individual and ours had access to a lovely terrace which was perfect for watching the setting sun. The location is quiet and right next to a lovely park, so good for a great night's sleep. We found many of the staff really helpful and friendly. A particular thank you to the lovely food and beverage manager who went of his way to organise and early breakfast on the day we departed and very generously used his own credit card for us to make a train booking online when our own credit card wouldn't work. He definitely went the extra mile to ensure our stay was an enjoyable one. Patiala itself has a fascinating history and while there isn't much in the way of tourist infrastructure at the moment, the quiet charms of the town were delightful.
Love the luxury

I had opted for the standard single occupancy room, the room was very spacious. I loved the concept of the room and one can feel the luxury within. The staff were excellent and very hospitable.. on their feet looking to serve you and make you comfortable. the restaurant food was very good. Even amidst the crowded weekend, they ensured their guests had not to wait for a table. Loved these little thoughtfulness they had put in..
