Day Trip Overnight Stay with friends.

At first glance, the property is well kept. Our visit took place late in October, as we followed a great weather forecast for the region and decided to get away. Friends of ours recommended we try the hotel as they have enjoyed past visits.
We were not disappointed. We tried to get a few days, but they were filled up due to a wedding for that weekend. The staff was courteous. The pool was even heated as the weather was still warm for October. The rooms were refurbished and comfortable.
the rate was very reasonable. Good experience. Nice accommodations. Great ocean views. As advertised, many amenities including a restaurant and bar. Don't be afraid to stay here. a great value for the money!

We booked the deal warm up, for the weekend, it said kitchenette, we booked for 3 people,
We assumed when said kitchenette meant we are getting more then coffee pot and microwave.
We went down to complain because we needed silverware-plates-knives-toaster-dish detergent-sponge-bowls
We thought this would come in our room
We had no table
Just 2 beds and sofa bed no kitchenette
They were very nice to us and help us
Just next time will call first
The food at the rusty nail was great
Great room, awesome view

To call this place a "shack" is a major misnomer. I was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms have been refurbished and are bright and airy. There was a microwave and fridge, as well as real glasses (not just plastic cups), and the housekeeping staff replenished our water each day with two new bottles. The rooms are large enough to have two queen beds, plus a sofa and coffee table with room to spare, and everything was clean. We were on the third floor, and could walk outside (or sit on the chairs outside our room) and watch the ocean directly across the road. The view was unobstructed - although there is a parking lot and a road you look over. There are no elevators, which is not a problem for us, but if you can't walk stairs let them know when you are booking your room so they can check for a ground floor room for you. The staff was super friendly and efficient. There is an outdoor pool, but we didn't use it so I can't comment on that. There is also a bar and a fire pit. There was a party going on at the bar when we arrived at 10 PM and I thought it might be an issue, but the music stopped shortly after that and we had a quiet, restful night. The next night the music was over even earlier, so not an issue if you're a light sleeper. Beds were comfortable, too. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, or to recommend it to others.
Close to bar and amazing deal!

My Bf and I stayed at The Beach Shack in Saturday the 28th. Attended Halloween party at the Ugly Mug and check out was very late the next day due to a deal running on their website for Sunday departures (only) ip until the middle of December! The room was very comfortable, clean, updated, and private. The front desk clerk that checked me in was very amicable and helpful with suggestions on places to eat, etc. We will definitely be staying here again! In the process of booking the next trip! :)
Nice clean rooms, some issues

The good: We stayed in a bunk room.
1. It had a bunk style bed between the front room and the bathroom. We didn't use those beds, but probably very nice for families.
2. The rooms were very clean, and very nicely renovated.
3. Parking on site
4. Restaurant on site.
5. Walking distance to everything.
6. Friendly helpful staff.
The not so good:
1. Bathroom windows not frosted and even with blinds can see directly into the (open) shower from parking lot.
2. The open bathroom - no separation for shower, means the entire bathroom is a shower floor. Once a shower was taken anyone using the toilet and the sink dealt with wet floors. Not sure if we had a handicap room or if other rooms were like this.
3. Front door to room opens right up to the bed. If someone is in bed and the other needs to go get ice or to the car, everyone outside (especially rooms on first floor) can see you in bed.
4. I think this must be a party hotel for grown ups (groups or guys getting away). We had rooms next to us and around us that were drunk and loud at 2:30 to 3:30 am after getting back from bars and hanging outside their rooms. They were large groups and quite obnoxious for that hour. This might be on the good list for many people, but not for everyone. We were looking for rest at that hour.
Also (can be good or bad depending on your preference): They are a dog friendly hotel. They allow dogs in the rooms (not sure which ones) and in the restaurant. This is touchy as some people LOVE dogs and bring them as one of their family members, but others prefer to not have to deal with others pets. Just know what your preference is.
