What People are saying

Best option in Sandyford!

Anatereza on 18/11/2017 11:14

It is a boutique hotel, very charming, much better inside than it looks from the outside! Most staff was attentive and friendly. Rooms are nice. The fridge was empty, which was not the best, but there was a machine in the hallway with water and soft drinks. Then it was removed. Wonder why...There was a coffee/tea machine in the room, but no biscuits or anything else. There was also an iron and board, which was very convenient. The thai restaurant is nice, but after a few days, you would like different options and the only alternative would be bar food, which was pretty much OK. Breakfast is exactly the same every single day. If you have a short stay, it's OK, but after a few days, it's boring. Maintenance staff very responsive. There was a problem in the shower, which was fixed right away. After all, it is a nice hotel, just need to pay attention to these "little" things.

Good for business stay

I've just spent three nights at the Beacon in Sandyford. I was in Dublin for work and this hotel is perfect if you want to be situated near Sandyford industrial estate, home to Microsoft and other businesses.

The room was nice and spacious, lovely big bathroom with tub/shower combo. Perfect for a soak after a long day. One thing I found odd was the lack of power points, nothing near the bed which was a bit of a pain. Also, a few of the TV channels just didn't work.

The Thai restaurant served up some pretty good nosh, I'd recommend the spring rolls and Pad Thai noodles. Pretty tasty and well cooked. Breakfast was a bit average if I'm totally honest, not a great spread of hot food but it's quite a small area. Fresh fruit was great though and a solid coffee.

The surrounding area is pretty quiet with not much going on although you're just a 7-8 minute walk to the Luas stop (tram) which'll get you into town. That said, there is a supermarket within a 5 to 7 minute walk and a few eating places including mexican and pizza hut.

Just one gripe when checking out, the chap at the desk misplaced the key to the luggage storage room meaning I had to wait almost 25 minutes to get my luggage, causing my taxi driver to wait and of course I got charged a waiting fee. No real harm done but a bit silly.

All in all a good stay, especially for those working in the area.

Nice hotel

We stayed here two nights. Very accessible to get into town with the Luas. We ate in My Thai the first night it was beautiful and staff where lovely. Second night we ate bar food, this was not nice. The rooms are lovely, very cool vibe and a great atmosphere when we arrived Friday evening. Was surprised there was only one plug socket in room.

Excellent hotel

I stayed here with my friend thinking we’d be disappointed booking somewhere which seemed so far out on the map from the city, however we were so wrong the hotel has amazing rooms very clean and staff are lovely the food in Thai is must. It only takes 10-15mins in a taxi to temple bar way and isn’t expensive for travel I would defiantly stay here in future and recommend it!

Horrible food, rude staff

Beautiful room. I really enjoyed my stay, I stayed for one night. The rooms are gorgeous but went for breakfast and it was awful, I definitely wouldn't recommend the breakfast. I got what they call a 'full Irish breakfast' I got 2 rashers and 2 sausages and an orange juice and was charged €15 and might I add the food was very poor and the staff down at breakfast weren't much better.

I'd revisit the hotel but wouldn't sit in the bar or have breakfast inside the hotel.
