Didn't stay

Thought we would pop in for coffee but didn't get pass the front door. Hmmm not inviting. Cobwebs on outside if building everywhere, empty notice boards by door, in desperate need for a lick of paint, dirty windows and rough looking ........that's just for starters ....no no no don't go in!
Wareham is such a beautiful village/town which has quaint little coffee shops and restaurants scattered all the way through the town making it ones of the prettiest towns in the area. Why on earth would you have lunch or coffee at a run down dirty pub! Come on at least give it a wash and stick some flowers out!
poor place

Very poor as said before in August place needs closing down . Booked in for B and B . No brekfast no cook wanted to charge for room and brekfast. Bar advertised to be open till 11:00 pm was shut at 9:00pm following day closed at 6:00pm
Floor in front of bar sticky
Pub dog allowed to go in public areas in the hotel
Would advice people not to stay here place has hit rock bottom its just a youth pub not a hotel
Foul mouthed 'kids' in charge

Went recently after not visiting for a year or so. What has happened?? Under new 'management' (if you can call them that) and its ridiculously clear they don't have a clue. It seems the landlady doesn't care. She looks knackered and uses foul language which is just embarrassing. No beers on at all and she didn't seem bothered by that. The weird blue they have painted the main bar in just doesn't work. The sort of colour you'd paint your bathroom in, not an old pub. It seems the plan here is to employ pretty barmaids and play on that to get the custom in, rather then actually run a pub the way it should be run. I'd bet my house it will be under new management in 6 months and hopefully they can rescue this place.
B without B

We visit Wareham frequently and have always stayed in the Black Bear. Until recently it was shabby but friendly, run by pleasant and helpful, locally-based people. However, earlier this year the local team were evicted by the ‘pubco’ and replaced with new management who’ve stopped providing breakfasts – B with no B, in fact. The former breakfast room now houses a pool table and a few surly teenage pool players. The present incumbents say it’s not worth their while to provide their guests with breakfast, at least not during the ‘low’ season. When asked when they might deign to provide breakfast again they were vague: “June… July… August… dunno”. And we weren’t even offered a discount for lack of breakfast – the rate was the same as we’d paid earlier in the year, which had included breakfast! There was no one around to take our payment when we checked out (hungry) the next morning. We finally found a harassed employee who said the new management were hardly ever around, and appeared not to care less about their guests. Guests no more, in our case – we won’t be returning.
Disappointed

got to the hotel, showed our room, which was very substandard and the bed was to big for the room, leaving hardly any room to move round.
Went downstairs to have a look round and got a drink, then enquired where breakfast was going to be served, to be told that they don't do breakfast after 31st August although the website is still showing free breakfast. The staff were uncaring and didn't care about what we had been told on the phone, certainly wouldn't recommend.
