Not going anywhere near a Country Club again !!

Stayed here for a night enroute to Savandurga as part of a group with families. The outdoors looks reasonably maintained except that the pond was filled with weeds and was an absolute dengue mosquito delight. The rabbit enclosure was stinking. The lesser said about the indoors the better. The rooms which came at a cost of 2k plus looked shabbier and dirtier than a BPL lodge in the Majestic area. I had to try hard not to touch anything. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the property was launched. We ordered coffee on room service and got tea instead and the fellow who delivered the tea insisted we had ordered tea when we tried to tell him we ordered coffee. We decided to have the tea and could barely go through it. The swimming pool looked ok but considering the condition and cleanliness of the property we decided not to venture into it. Only saving grace was fairly clean, fresh bedsheets and towels which made the overnight stay tolerable. I couldn't wait for sunrise so I could check out and leave. Food was ok. Nothing much to rave about. Not worth the money you are charged for anything except maybe for a little bit of the last three things. If you are keen on cleanliness and value for money....do not go anywhere near this property. We could see posters of new CC's in Bali & Singapore. Dear CC Management, I would suggest you start by taking a second look at the condition of the properties in India first !! Not a pleasant experience by any standard.
Good Location

Visited this place on the Mysore/Bangalore highway just after the last signal light out of Mysore, on the left hand side. Chances are most motorists will miss the location as the sign board is not very visible on to the highway. Small place with not much of a crowd. Place lacks maintenance. Food is good & reasonably priced. Both veg & non vegetarian dishes on the menu. If one holds a Country Club membership then a discount on the final bill amount is additionally given.
Checked In 20years Old resort

When I reached hotel the welcome desk looks like security cabin and the receptionist did so like we checking it to lodge. After checking they provided a room which smells fungi and dust, and best part is no remotes and TV not working. All cupboards started decaying and room was big. The most funny part is the door lock was complaint. They provided natural living for us and I killed three rats in my room( better I checked out very next day, else i would become a serial killer). From the behavior of staff I doubted that we are staying here for free with their mercy. For dinner they provided half cooked thandor chicken and dry fried rice (with good chilled beer) and breakfast as usual nice tea with burned bread and omlette. Altogether it's awkward and new experience (purely natural living experience with rats and mosquitoes).

Birding in Manchanabele

We wanted to do some early morning birding in Manchanabele. So we stayed overnight in Country Club in order to avoid driving from Btm to Mysore Road early in the morning. The accommodation is basic, the rooms are spic and span but the bathroom is not so clean. Old and rusted buckets and tumblers don't feel welcoming to take a bath. The food is tasty and they offer a la carte. The room charge is 2400 for Deluxe room which doesn't cover food. They take an advance of 3000 and then adjust the F&B cost. They have a lawn and some tall trees which makes up for the plain aesthetics. Overall it met our need as we were focused on birding which means you have to arrive on time.
