This was our first time here and very nice it was too. Beautiful room and lovely food in the restaurant. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the barn and it was lovely waking up to the countryside stillness. A real must for anyone that wants to get away from all. Will come again ... a lovely place.

If you are looking for relaxation, good food, drink, accommodation and very friendly hospitality, this is the place.
I have stayed a few times on my own whilst working away but this time I took my partner for a belated birthday weekend. I requested for some flowers and a bottle of fizz to be in the room on our arrival for her and Linda certainly made sure they were. (Thanks for going to pick the flowers up David, she loved them.)
We had a walk round the village on a very windy weekend and returned to the bar for some welcome refreshments.
The evening meal was superb again and thanks to all the team who work hard to maintain the Dovecote Inn's high standards.

Staying one night for a local wedding. Lovely small village, a long way from major towns so wasn’t expecting luxury! However, what a very pleasant surprise - very friendly welcome and informative introduction to our room which was separate from the inn, in a converted barn. (Dog-friendly).
Beautiful large room, king-size bed and stylish decor, en-suite very impressive, double shower and very modern fittings. Good size flat screen tv and drink making facilities.
Continental breakfast in the room ( plenty of room for the table & chairs) small fridge with milk, yoghurts etc. Cereals, different bread and pastries, kettle and toaster - amazing!
The restaurant in the inn was very comfortable and welcoming, had a delicious soup before we attended the wedding where we found the Inn provided the reception meal which was delicious!
We will find an excuse to return, hopefully for a longer stay!

Our family went late on a Sunday afternoon to eat. Wonderful roast. We had the beef and the lamb. Definitely recommend this beautiful village restaurant/pub. Service was excellent very friendly. Puddings were nice. A lovely end to a good day at the races to celebrate our wedding anniversary and fathers birthday.

Visited for the first time in around 3 years. Pub was busy and had a good atmosphere. We arrived 45 mins early for our booking as we wanted to have a drink and relax.
10 mins after our booked time we had to ask for menus.20 mins later we had to attract staffs attention to give them our order. A further 10 mins later, so 40 mins after our booked time a waiter came up to us and asked us to follow him to our table with our starters in his hands! I’ve never followed my starter to the table before. Usually you sit before food is served?
The food lacked seasoning but all in all was well cooked.
Not sure we will return after been kept waiting for so long.
