Followed by hot treacle and ginger tart and custard!!! Fab-u-lous darling!!!!! So tasty!! Everyone so friendly and nothing too much trouble. Wonderful meal and wonderful place!!

Lunch by the Sussex coast.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to be treated to lunch at the 'Elmer' pub in Elmer which is on the Sussex coast near Bognor Regis a week or two ago by my sister and brother in law who live quite close to this establishment. I'd never been to the 'Elmer' public house before but I found that it had a comfortable dining room adjoining the bar where diners could enjoy an affordable two course lunch costing just less than a tenner which was quite substantial and which I'm quite certain would fill you up. The service was efficient and our waitress was a most charming and helpful lady.
For myself I selected a prawn cocktail to start of with, followed with a steak and kidney pudding for my main course, and whilst I won't bore you with the details of what we all selected there was a good choice of dishes on offer and one could not help but notice that everything appeared very appetising, and everybody agreed that our food was very tasty - so much so in fact, that I for one couldn't manage to eat a sweet course which was rather a shame as there was an extremely tempting selection of 'afters' to choose from.
Should you like to know more about this pleasing pub and its meals, you'll find that it has its own web site which I'm sure will tell you much more about this pleasing establishment.
I certainly can't wait to be invited again for lunch at the 'Elmer' as I found it to be a most satisfactory eating place.
Not for families

I hate to write this because we've been here before and loved it. The staff are amazing and the food is lovely however the facilities are not adequate for a place that states that families are welcome. I had to change my baby near the sinks in the ladies toilets!! Not nice for me, my baby or other people using the toilets. Trying to change the baby, protect her modest and apologise to another lady in their was far from ideal.
A taste of local life

This is a true Bed and Breakfast with a place in our hearts and memories. We spent one night in room 5 and two nights in room 1. All rooms are on the 2nd floor (stairs only), above the Pub and excellent restaurant. It came with a very good and proper, English Breakfast. The Pub closes at 10 therefor not a noise problem. The staff was wonderful and we felt as accepted as one of the locals in no time. This was our base of exploration for our 7 day tour of the UK. We loved the food, the Pub and the people of the Village of Elmer. Another restaurant, two markets, a church and a pharmacy is an easy walk away. The Public walk to the beach is only two blocks East as well.
American visitors, pack a flat sheet. It is the custom in the UK to only provide a fitted sheet and a duvet (a thick, heavy bed spread).
