Was very disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy the typical Fairmont dining experience. I built a bridge and ordered some pub fare from the and was surprised to see over fried food. One of the reasons I choose Fairmonts is to enjoy the in-house dining experience. Other than that great front desk and housekeeping - lounge staff friendly although I wasn’t please they serve me food that should of never been served.

Short stay- room looked renovated. The spa experience was great but the change room was horrible!!! Took away from the spa experience. The dining was disastrous. In an empty restaurant, it took 45 minutes to get our appetizer because they were “switching kitchen.” Won’t go to a Fairmont again. We stayed at the Edmonton one was well and did not like it.

Good location, close to work, and downtown. It gets very dry in Calgary in the winter and this was fixed with a humidifier in my room (although it had to be fixed by staff was not properly assembled when I checked in) but it made a huge difference to my stay.

I stayed at the Fairmont Palliser earlier this month. I stayed for just one night. I woke up early as I had to catch an early flight. I went into the bathroom and got in the shower to find, to my dismay, that the handle for the water would not turn. I tried with all my strength and could not budge it. I called the front desk and they said that nobody from maintenance was in yet. They said they would send someone else up. In about 10-15 minutes, a small woman showed up and surprise, surprise was unsuccessful in budging the tap. She said she would get someone else to come and have a look. 10-15 minutes later, a taller gentleman knocked on the door. He gave it a try and also, not surprisingly, had no luck. Neither brought a wrench up with them. He then left and said he would see if he could find someone from maintenance. By this time, time was running short as I had a flight to catch. The front desk then called and said that they had another room that I could use to shower. Way too late! I don’t make it a habit to wake up an extra hour early to catch an early flight in case the shower does not work and I need to change rooms. How do you rent out a room without a working shower?
I never received any explanation as to why they would rent out a room without a working shower and what exactly happened to that shower handle? This despite the fact that I asked to be contacted by someone or an explanation.
All I got was an eventual email that apologized for the delayed response and “hoped I enjoyed my stay”. Are you kidding me? Also, “I apologize that this stay did not meet your expectations”. Whose expectations would be met by staying in a hotel room that did not have a working shower? There was an offer to contact the sender next time I was planning on staying in the hotel and they would make sure to provide me with a room with a working shower. In addition, a $50 food Credit was offered.
I can understand that issues can occur but ultimately you are judged on your ability to make things right. Offering a $50 food discount does not at all offset the disappointment of not being able to shower before catching a flight for another full day of meetings. Let me ask you this, Fairmont, how many people would choose to stay in your hotel rooms for a $50 discount and have no working shower.

We stayed at the Fairmont Palliser from November 11th for 2 nights. Highly recommend this hotel. The rooms, the comfy beds and the service were all top class. Please do the upgrade to Gold. The delightful treats and breakfast on the Penthouse level were worth noting. Cant fault this hotel for anything
